This paper is intended to provide the student with an opportunity to reflect on what climate
justice should mean before we begin to examine competing approaches to the climate crisis. Drawing on the lectures, readings, and class discussions [I will enclose them], you will…
�Discuss what climate justice means to you and why. Consider to what degree it requires us to change our economic and political systems, to recognize events in the past that led to inequalities, and to give weight to the interests of future people and non-humans.
�Different answers to those questions will require us to take on different responsibilities.
Following from your understanding of climate justice, choose 1-2 of the following areas and discuss what moral obligations and entitlements you believe arise and why in the context of climate change:
1) Between countries in the global north and south
2) Between the wealthier and less wealthy
3) Between current and future generations
4) Between human and non-human life
�Be sure to provide strong arguments for your claims. Use tools like those discussed in lecture 3 (I will be sending this lecture to you). Very important: Anticipate what counter-arguments opponents of your views might present and defend your claims against them.
Your paper will be evaluated on grammar, organization, clarity, and how well you
developed arguments and defenses for your claims.
