Your extra credit assignment will be worth 30 points. You will review a documentary or movie related to “race & ethnicity” or “race, class, and gender.” If you are reviewing a “movie” the movie must be based on a true story or event. You also have the option of reviewing a book which focuses on “race & ethnicity” or “race, class, and gender.” If you decided to review a book, it does not have to be based on a true story/event- but it cannot be science fiction. You will then write a 1 1⁄2-2 page review of the video and discuss how it relates to any of the readings or concepts discussed in our class.
Extra credit format:
Your work should be written in essay format (introduction, body, and conclusion.
You should summarize the documentary, movie, book you reviewed
You should discuss how it relates to the readings and concepts learned
throughout the course.
Most importantly you should discuss how it relates to racial domination,
racism in the 21st century, and whiteness-white privilege.
