This class is “Adult and Aging” in Psychology, you have to come up with a topic based on the paper.
This is an applied final project. It is a qualitative research or case study. In this project, you will reflect on aging by interviewing someone over the age of 65. You will analyze his or her experiences using theory and research from peer-reviewed journal articles and other scholarly sources. You will complete this project in steps and will learn how to ethically complete a case study.
Here are the steps of the project:
1.Identify a person to interview for this project. It could be a relative, a neighbor, or a coworker.
2.Generate appropriate questions for the interview.
3.Conduct the interview with the person you identified.
4.Identify psychological themes and issues in the person’s life. (Transcribing the interviews if oral is recommended, as the transcription will help you identify themes and psychological issues.)
5.Using only peer-reviewed sources, analyze how these themes/concepts/theories are represented in the interviewee’s life.
6.Write the paper using American Psychological Association (APA) format.
You must include at least five peer-reviewed journal references.
You must address at least four areas (physiology, work, retirement, aging,)
The paper is to be six to eight pages (not including the title and reference pages). The title page, reference page, page numbering, and in-text citations MUST be in APA format.
In writing the paper, remember that APA encourages the use of headings. Try dividing the interview into logical segments (Work, etc.) and using a heading to identify each section. The paper is NOT to be a verbatim transcript of the interview. Direct quotes should be used sparingly. Begin each section with a description of the part of the interview concerning that part of life. Then analyze the interviewee’s life in light of psychological theory and concepts. Be sure to point out specific theories and concepts and support your analysis with references.
