Brand Profile Report (750 words)
For this project, you choose a brand that you will use for all of the course projects and then write a description of your chosen brand.
A suitable brand for the course is a brand that is intriguing to you, has proper amount (not too much, not too little) of information for your analysis, and processes the potential for you to develop innovative interactive advertising for all of the projects of this course, including mobile, social, search and display advertising.
Good research is essential. You should search for information from several databases at the MSU Libraries, such as Hoover’s Company Records, Mergent Online, and Statista. Compare several possible brands before making your selection.
Your brand may be a product or a service. Please refer to some example brands in the appendix. You may choose a brand from the appendix or a brand that is not in the appendix. If you have difficulty to decide, you may email us a few candidate brands for advice.
Your project report should include the following:
Name of the brand, its parent company if any, and brief history.
Two competing brands and a brief description of each.
Sales, market share, and profits of your brand and competing brands.
Present users, competing users, and emerging users of your brand.
Challenges and potentials of your brand.
Any inspirations or difficulties that you encountered in this project.
Important: Always use the latest information when available, double check before use, and give sources of important information items in the report.
