The Analytical Report
For this assignment, you can either visit a restaurant, coffee shop, or cafeteria or base this off of a remembered
experience. The workers and fellow customers will assume that you are an ordinary customer, but you are really a spy for the
owner.
After your visit, write a short report for the owner explaining:
1. What you did and observed
2. Any possible violations of policy (health and safety, for example)
3. Any points of improvement
The first part of your report will be the longest. Include a description of the premises, inside and out. describe the food
and the service. The report should be truthful and complete, discussing good and bad aspects of the decor, service, food,
facilities, schedule of delivery, etc.
The second section will be primarily common sense (Did the people behind the counter use gloves to handle food? Was the
waiter careful not to touch your food?)
