Karen Carlin

Read the case entitled, “Karen Carlin”.  Assume you are Karen Carlin and you have just been appointed by Frazier to be the supervisor of the schedule typists.  Your primary task is to improve the performance of the schedule typists who, currently, are performing below standard.

Using your knowledge from the course:  ( I will provide you with attachments)

(1) Explain why you believe the performance of the typists is below standard; you should consider multiple factors (not just one or two) that might be causing, or contributing to, their low performance (i.e., you should look at factors from multiple skill areas that might be relevant to the problem)

(2) develop a comprehensive action plan to improve the performance of the schedule typists; be specific about what you would do, how you will do it, and why you would do it (i.e.. how it will help to address the underlying causes of their low productivity)
