I am applying to an industrial organizational psychology masters program I finished my bachelor degree in hungary double major of german language teacher and social educator (school social worker) volunteered at orphanages since I was a kid. My decision to go to school and become a teacher and social worker was influenced by my family, since pretty much everybody became a teacher first since generations. Worked in a public high school as a teacher and peer counselor, later moved to the capitol and worked for an online bookstore (amazon “like” hungarian version) as a marketing coordinator main responsibility was to communicate between departments and departments and clients such as publishers, write contracts, coordinate the marketing online and offline. While working there i started my BA in psychology with the ultimate goal of becoming an industrial organizational psychologist. I realized that blending psychology business, effective communication, training would be the most suitable field for my personality to work in. But then I decided to move to the states. By now i established a secure financial background, i won’t get distracted. In the past couple years I worked in the hospitality, my latest employer has a start up establishment and appreciates my help, they are very supportive about me going back to school. The schools questions: 1. In what areas (e.g., selection and placement, organizational development, performance management) will you, as a business psychologist, affect or contribute to the business world? How will your contributions differ from those with an M.B.A. or other business training? 2. In your role as a business psychology student, you are likely to work and study with people from many backgrounds. In 500 words (two typed pages), tell us what will be some of the challenges for you studying with people different from yourself, and what you would contribute in your interactions with them.
