Overview: For our second essay you are being asked to propose a solution to a problem that currently affects you and/or a community to with you belong. The problem should be specific and focused and should be one that you could conceivably help solve. Your essay will have for distinct goals: 1. To describe the problem affecting you and your community. 2. To propose a specific solution to that problem. 3. To argue for the efficacy of your solution. 4. To present and refute an alternate solution (a counterargument) To achieve these goals you need to make sure you do the following: • You should make sure to spend at least a paragraph describing the problem and its ramifications for you and your community. • You should describe your solution to the problem. • You should present at least four reasons your solution is the best possible solution. • You should have a counterargument in which you present and refute an alternate solution. I was thinking about using Flint’s water problem as my topic,but if you do not think that is a great topic you can choose other one.
