I thought out of all of the professional associations websites this was the best website for many reasons. This website does an extremely good job of guiding a novice psychological through the journey of picking an undergraduate program through a doctoral program. (American Psychological Association, 2016) I think that this association’s website is very organized and is very user friendly. This website has a lot of information that you don’t need to be a member to get. There is even more information and special things that you get if you join. The second association’s website that I checked out was the American Counseling Association’s website. For individuals and professionals in the field of counseling this website is a good one. The mission of this website is to give the members as much information and connectivity to each other in the field as possible. (American Counseling Association, 2016) This is crucial for those in the field of counseling. The website is easy to use and the information it provides to its professionals seemed very beneficial. I think the most beneficial part to the American Counseling Associations website was the job link. I think this website is great for connecting with other professionals in the field. The next association’s website that I checked out was the American School Counseling Association’s website. This website is good for membership because when you have a membership in this association it allows for the connection that this association gets you with other professionals within your field of work. (American School Counselor Association, 2016) The one thing I did not like about this website was the fact that it was only for school counselors. I know that sounds dumb because this is the American School Counselor Association. It says it in the name. I think that some of the information that is provided to members could be used by other than school counselors. The next website that I checked out was the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. What I liked most about this association’s website was the purpose of it. The purpose of the Society for the Industrial and Organizational Psychology is assist professionals in the industrial and organizational psychological field and provide them with the most knowledge possible in their field. (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, 2016) I have thought long and hard about going into the field of I/O psychology. I have been interested in I/O psychology since I started learning about psychology. The website was great and easy to use. This association’s website provides a lot of publications and does a good job of keeping the professionals in the field up to date on current trends and events in the career field. I did not find much I did not like about this associations website. The last association’s \website that I looked into was the American Psychology and Law Society. I did not find this website easy to use. It was an offshoot of the APA website. The information might have been beneficial to the professionals in that particular field but at first glance this was the worst website. The purpose for the American Psychology and Law Society is the advancement of the overall understanding of psychology in the legal system. (American Psychology and Law Society, 2016) That was about the only good thing that I like about the association’s website.
