| Read the below forum and write a reply to it: What I like about each website is that they all are very well organized. There are areas for students, professionals, and the general public. The mission and goals of each organization are clearly stated on the front page including a link for a more detailed explanation. I like that they provide complete information for membership, including what is included in each membership. Each website also provides a news section on the front page which lets the reader know exactly what the organization is doing, what events are upcoming, and how they are impacting society. I feel that the American Psychological Association is the best at promoting itself to larger audiences which includes professionals, students, authors, employers, and librarians. The APA doesn’t leave out promoting education to the general public, and includes a large amount of psychology topics. Other helpful items that all of the websites include are information on legalities in the profession, continuing education opportunities, awards, grants and scholarships for student and professional members, job search, and resources. Like the APA website, the American School Counselor Association website also has an excellent area for parents to provide information on the role of a school counselor, and also additional publications on how they can help move their child in a positive direction. I think that the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) website is the most eye-catching and easy to read. The APA also has a student mentoring program listed on the website, which is another appealing feature. I think the APA has the best website with the SIOP coming in a close second. What I don’t feel is helpful, is that most articles and publications on each website are unavailable to non-members. The APA does the most for non-members with regards to free publication access. I also think that active full-time students should be allowed a free membership into the organizations that they are majoring in. I think that it would provide beneficial information for students to better understand their career path. What I find missing from all of the websites is a complete list of accredited Colleges and Universities that offer degree programs per their organization. I would like for each of the organizations to provide that information along with a ranking based on program content and cost. Reference American Psychological Association (APA). (2016).
