The metrics you described are purely activity indicatorsand describe the volume of work so they do not accurately capture all inputs (Langabeer & Helton, 2016, p. 142.). Examples of metrics in the given balanced scorecard are inpatient mortality, overall rating of the hospital, hospital CMI, etc. This balanced scorecard also has benchmarking data where West Central Hospital performance were compared to CCG Top Quartile for FY 2009.
