| . Individual Leadership Development paper Each student is required to write a 5-6 page individual leadership development paper. This paper has three interrelated components: a. First, you will write a brief leadership self-assessment. What are your greatest leadership strengths and weaknesses? You should use both self-reflection and external data to inform your assessment. Throughout the semester we will complete various self-assessment instruments that can help you develop your self-assessment. Furthermore, your experience in your team should also provide you data regarding your leadership strengths and weaknesses. b. Second, you will write a brief description of your personal ideal authentic leadership self. Who do you authentically want to be and what do you want to do as a leader? What does your personal ideal of leadership look like? c. Third, you will write a specific action plan regarding how you plan to maintain what you’re doing well as a leader and change what you’d like to change as a leader. Your action plan must be specific enough to provide a 6-12 month developmental roadmap. Think here of a “SMART-D” (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-oriented, Time-bound, and Difficult) approach. Well-written papers will be explicitly embedded in at least two course theories/concepts; use the concepts to inform your self-assessment, your ideal authentic self, and your action plan. Be sure to follow the above formatting guidelines and to proofread for clarity and correctness. |
