Title Propose a title for your project. 2. Rationale With reference to academic literature provide an introduction, the context and a justification for your research project. This section should conclude with a statement of your aims and objectives. (words > 350) 3. Methods Identify and describe what data you plan to collect. Describe how you will collect these data for your project. Explain and justify why this procedure is appropriate and outline your sampling strategy (numbers of samples, location of samples, etc). The assignment will be extremely well written in appropriate language and will make reference to appropriate literature. B The Research Project proposal will be appropriate and well-focussed. The investigation is justified and will provide clear outcomes. The project may be feasible as it stands but you may need some advice from a supervisor. It will include a clear explanation of the project and will demonstrate some understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of this approach. The assignment will be well written in appropriate language and will make reference to appropriate literature. C The Research Project proposal will be appropriate and well-focussed. It will provide clear outcomes. The project may not necessarily be feasible and the idea may need to be developed with advice from a supervisor. The proposal outlines the rationale. The value of alternative approaches may be discussed. The assignment will be largely written in appropriate language and will make reference to some literature. D The Research Project proposal may be inappropriate and/or not relate to the question being asked. It may not be clear how the project will address the research question. The project may not necessarily be feasible and the idea may need significant development with advice from a supervisor. The report will provide a very basic explanation and will provide some basic discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the proposal.
