Are there special programs for families with children or special ticket prices for students? Upon doing some research I located the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, www.sanbernardinosymphony.org. As a resident of the Inland Empire I feel that this is the closest symphony orchestra to me and one that I would probably visit. As of right now the season is concluding for the symphony orchestra and they are preparing for a final, season ending performance titled Finale Bravura!. The orchestral pieces being performed during this performance are: Magic Flute Overture, Rococo Variations, Hungarian Rhapsody, and Symphony No. 8. This appears to be the only performance that I could visit during our class as it is on Saturday, May 28th. Regarding performances for children I did not find much but I did find that they offer workshops for younger musicians and several outreach programs geared towards encouraging and nurturing young talent. And unfortunately I could not find any information that would hint that a student discount is available for tickets. Ticket prices start at $20 and go as high as $55, which I feel isn’t too expensive for a live musical performance.
