While you may read Part I and the editor?s italicized descriptions preceding each document in Part II, the only evidence you should be paraphrasing, quoting, and citing as your evidence are the actual primary source documents in Part II.
3) Tip on Time Context: For this assignment to work, we must ignore the nasty fact that King and X were assassinated (in 1968 and 1965 respectively). For convenience?s sake, assume that both figures are alive at the time you?re writing this memo, and that the speeches and documents in the text represent their bodies of work as if they were alive at the same time.
