Criteria for the Paper
1. See attached Rubric for the exegesis Paper. Paper is graded according to the rubric.
2. Page numbers should be one inch from the bottom of the page.
Major heading should be centered headings Introduction, literature, and approx. 3 spaces from the text that follows.
3. Introduction need to focus on the paper, the objectives, strategy, and what the paper is going to do to give a heads-up to the direction the paper is going. Tell more about the paper.
4. Refrain from starting a sentence in the paper with the word “ it”.
5. Compare and contrast between scholars and their opinions. Need to see more interaction between scholar’s opinion in the paper.
6. Literary section needs to concentrate on literary devices and elements of the paper.
7. Footnotes need to be the same size as the consistency of the report in the same case.
8. Footnotes need to be indented correct. Paper numbers are critical. Do not use footnotes and parathectical reference.
9. Bibliography – make sure each entry is single-spaced.
10. Be careful in allowing “first person” in research document.(we, our etc) Third person formal. Draw conclusion, back up with research
11. Paper should be no less than seven double-spaced pages.
12. Make sure information is pertinent nad relevant to the subject.
13. Get to the heart of what the paper mean.
14.Make sure what need to be said, is said, and not what it does
isn’t need to be said.
15. Divide paper into three sections History, Literature and Theology. Must also have an introduction and bibliography.
16.Pay attention to genre (historical narrative) guidelines.
17. Make sure if it’s somebody else’s material, give them credit.
