If you visit a cultural institution like CAFAM or the LA County Museum across the street from CAFAM, you can write up a one page critical analysis of how what you saw relates to the course and how what you learned from the museum informs you of the course material. Each one page write up should be emailed to me and is worth up to 10 points each. There are many other cultural institutions and if you live outside of LA, visit a local institution in your area. I had a student taking my class on an aircraft carrier and he related the “display of power” that he began noticing around the warship in terms of military command and military iconography and related it to the course brilliantly.
