Abstract
Use as many key words as possible in your abstract. Limit its length to 960 characters. For an empirical study, use 100-150 words to describe the problem, participants, method, findings, and conclusions. For a theoretical or review article, use 75 to 100 words to state the article’s topic, thesis, scope, sources, and conclusions. Define all abbreviations and unique terms. Spell out names of tests and drugs; use generic drug names. Use paraphrases, not quotations. Conserve space by using abbreviations; express numbers as digits.

Towards the bottom and in this section (italicized), provide the keywords that your potential reader may locate this article should it be published: keyword one, keyword 2, keyword 3, etc. (no more than six keywords)

Your Title Goes Here
In this section, open with a catchy introduction that embodies all of the essential elements of an introduction (hook, thesis, and potential main points).
Literature Review
In this section, provide one paragraph that discusses the refutation, that is, the paragraph where you discussed your opponent’s view on the topic. This should not exceed one paragraph.
In this section, begin discussing the literature that you have researched about your topic. This section should contain a minimum of four resources. You are encouraged to add more.
This section is filler space for your use when you are typing your paper. It helps to have it here to keep the page alignment in the document. You may delete this section at anytime or type in your own ideas. To use this template, select "File–Save As" and save the template under a new name. Then use type-over insertions to replace the header, information block, and title. If you wish to add a pulled quote in your paper, this is how you incorporate it. Be careful not to do this too often in your paper:
A quotation that occupies more than four typed lines should be indented five spaces from the left margin. In a student paper, a block quotation may be single or double spaced, without quotation marks at the beginning and end of the quoted material. Its right margin should be set at 1". Its parenthetical citation should be placed after the block’s last item of punctuation. (Smith, 1988, p. 16)
After the quote, you will discuss your ideas regarding the topic in this section. Notice that the alignment is flush-left, for it serve as a continuation of the discussion and not a new paragraph. This section should have a minimum of six additional paragraphs since you will be covering a large body of research.

The Annotated Bibliography is designed to assist you with your Research Paper references, to teach you how to search for scholarly journal articles, and to practice using proper in-text citations.
You will select 3 full-text, scholarly (peer-reviewed) journal articles that directly relate to 1 or more of the items listed in the outline.

Foundations of Personality
Nature versus Nurture
The Unconscious
View of Self
Progression of Personality
Development
Motivation
Maturation

Choose articles that will be helpful to you in your Research Paper assignment as well as articles that have been published in the last 7 years.
Save each article as a PDF file. It is recommended that you read and review the Research Paper Outline Instructions at this point.
The Annotated Bibliography must be a 300500 words per review of each of the 3 articles that you selected. This assignment does not need to include a title page, abstract page, or reference page; however, each reference must be listed before each summary in current APA format.
The review portion will give a general synopsis of each article that you reviewed. You must paraphrase; do not include any direct quotes. You must include in-text citations. If you do not include any in-text citations in this assignment, you will receive a zero. Proper use of in-text citations is imperative. You are encouraged to utilize the chapter on in-text citations in your APA manual. Do not cite other sources outside of the article that you are reviewing.

If you need assistance finding scholarly journal articles, click here to learn how to navigate through Liberty Universitys online library.
A grading rubric is provided to ensure you follow the assignment expectations.
Submit your Annotated Bibliography by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of Module/Week 3.

Selecting Articles
When you are searching Liberty Universitys online library, be sure to select Full-Text and Peer-Reviewed. To find useful articles, narrow your search by selecting portions of the theory, key words, or phrases to use as your search parameters. Using only the theorists name or theory will likely result in too many results to be effective.
Your articles must be from scholarly journals. It is preferred that the journals you select have the word Journal in the title (Journal of Marriage and Family, etc.). Ideally, each journal that you review should have a Methods section as well as Data, Results, and Conclusion sections, but these sections are not required. You must not use book reviews, obituaries, magazine articles, or online articles that have not been published in scholarly journals.
