Commercial Analysis of the Digital Publishing Market (Preparing to Launch a New Product)

The Commercial Analysis is on a Digital Publishing Application (similar to Flipboard) which is basically a digital magazine with curated content let it be called “DPA” Support everything with researched content and real existing similar companies and examples I need you to write the Analysis of certain parts: 1. Product Review- what do you believe makes the product to be launched different – how could it be improved (future enhancements) Phase 2 will be allowing anyone to curate magazines – managing these magazines on the mobile device requires some thought; how does a magazine get to the top (think google ranking perhaps?) 2. Product Marketing(communication)- Strategies for marketing a digital magazine app for Iphone & Ipad 3. Monetisation (The MOST IMPORTANT PART) Routes to making revenue – explore existing models, How are we going to monetize this business? (Google Ad words), Finding ways to advertise like a magazine. Research Hard copy and Digital Magazine Advert Costs – build a model – What are the facts and figures (how much do we charge?) – Comparisons of Facts and Figures in other Digital Publishing Market (youtube, flipboard, etc) – Projections up to 3 years (Spreadsheet Excel) For the “DPA” project it needs to be special display of advertising making it: Seamless & Target Audience (the price will vary on the number of Users reading specific articles)

Approaches to leadership, Part 1

As a leader, you are likely to have a preferred leadership style. You have developed this style because it fits your personality, through experience, and probably based on some level of reflection on which approaches seem to work best. From what you have learned from earlier personality assessments in Week 4, reflect on how your own leadership style aligns with your personality traits and accentuates your natural strengths. Throughout your experience as a leader, you may have occasionally asked yourself whether you might have handled certain leadership challenges differently, and whether another leader with a different approach might have been more successful. This type of reflection is critical to your future development as a leader. An additional important input to continued leadership development is the scholarly literature on leadership and its capacity to inform your practice. Critically examine this literature and various theories on leadership. Working to apply key ideas to your practice and reflecting on the results are marks of the scholar-practitioner. One way to practice this process is to consider leadership challenges you currently face, think about how key leadership theories might enable you to approach a particular problem differently, and reflect on the possible results. This Collaboration will take place over the next two weeks and give you an opportunity to share ideas with your colleagues about how you might use leadership theory to address your current leadership challenges. To prepare for this Collaboration: • Review the required readings on theories of leadership and watch the video titled Good Leaders Are Authentic Leaders. • Reflect on the definition of authentic leadership and how best to acquire traits associated with authentic leaders. • Conduct your own library research to locate at least two additional scholarly resources on leadership theories or models. • Compare the various theories, thinking about their applicability in different situations. You may wish to create a short written piece, table or other narrative or graphic that highlights the key differences between the theories. You do not have to submit this, but it will help you to complete this activity as well as the leadership analysis you will work on for your Module Project. • Reflect on a current leadership challenge or problem you or others have faced, preferably in your workplace or related to your organization, and write down what you know about the problem, including how it arose, who is involved and what the impact is on your organization, as well as what leadership approaches you are currently using. To complete this Collaboration: address the following issues/questions: • Describe your leadership challenge or problem, what you know about the problem, and what leadership approaches you are currently using. • Describe how at least two of this week’s readings on leadership theories and/or another resource you found reflect or contradict your current leadership approach. Submit your initial response to the Turnitin link provided and post to the Collaboration Forum.

Quantitative and Analytical Techniques for Managers

This coursework assignment contains three sections. The first section deals with measures of central tendency and dispersion, bivariate correlation and the standard normal distribution. Section 2 covers (i) simple bivariate regression (by hand/own calculations – you may use a calculator or spreadsheet but you must show your workings) and (ii) the interpretation of results from a simple linear regression model. In section 3 you are asked to carry out multiple regression analysis using SPSS and to write up your analysis of the results. Section 1 1. A researcher has collected a sample of data on the rate of return on assets of companies operating in the motor vehicles industry in Japan. Table 1 Rate of Return on Assets of Japanese Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Company Rate of Return on Assets (%) Company 1 6.1 Company 2 3.2 Company 3 -5.0 Company 4 4.6 Company 5 11.5 Company 6 8.2 Company 7 21.3 Company 8 -0.2 Company 9 10.1 Company 10 3.4 Company 11 5.3 Company 12 0.1 Company 13 8.4 Company 14 6.1 Company 15 5.9 Company 16 12.4 a) Use the mean, mode, median, range, variance and standard deviation to describe the sample of data. Round all your answers to 1 decimal place. b) You have been asked by the Japanese Motor Vehicles Trade Association to write a 300-400 word report on the profitability of the companies and Motor Vehicles Manufacturers sector based on the above statistics. Provide your report including a discussion of the merits and dismerits of the statistical measures you have calculated in (a) and how these must be taken into consideration when interpreting the dataset in Table 1. 2. You have collected data on the stock prices all companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Market and have calculated that the mean share price is 510 and the standard deviation is 721. Round your answers to one decimal place and express your answers to (b) and (c) as percentages as well as probabilities. a) Explain what is meant by the z-score and the Standard Normal Distribution and show how they can be used to calculate probabilities. b) Calculate the probability that a company’s share price exceeds 600. c) Calculate the probability that a company’s share price is less than 250. 3. You have been asked by a supermarket chain to test the hypotheses that advertising increases sales. You have been given time series data on sales and advertising for a leading manufacturing company. Answer ALL parts of this question: Table 2 Advertising Expenditure and Sales, 2001-2010 Year Advertising Expenditure £m Sales £000m 2001 50 32 2002 74 100 2003 19 12 2004 23 15 2005 82 61 2006 40 79 2007 186 125 2008 27 8 2009 20 12 2010 166 40 a) Set up a Null Hypothesis and an Alternative Hypothesis to test the relationship between Advertising Expenditure and Sales. b) Use the data in Table 2 to calculate Pearson’s correlation coefficient between Advertising Expenditure and Sales. Give your answer to 1 decimal place. c) Calculate the t-ratio for Pearson’s correlation coefficient and determine whether the correlation coefficient is statistically significant at the 5% level using a one-tail test. d) In light of your findings what advice would you give to the company regarding the effectiveness of advertising? Section 2 4. A team of researchers aims to explore the hypothesis that productivity across countries is determined by investment in human capital. They have collected data on output per employee as a measure of productivity and the proportion of graduates in the workforce as a measure of human capital. The data are presented in Table 3. Using the cross sectional data in Table 3 answer all parts (a) to (e) below. Table 3 Data on Productivity and Human capital for a sample of countries in 2005 Year (Time) Productivity ($000) P Human capital (% of workforce with Degree) H China 26.1 11.2 Egypt 24.3 15.3 Ghana 19.6 12.4 India 27.2 15.3 Indonesia 15.6 10.5 Japan 46.6 30.5 Singapore 25.2 35.4 Vietnam 20.1 13.6 UAE 25.6 17.8 UK 45.0 28.4 a) Assuming that there is a linear relationship between productivity, P, and Human Capital, H, the researchers have set up the following linear model regression model: Pi = ?1 + ?2Hi + ei Where the subscript i denotes country and e is a random error term. Calculate ?1 and ?2 by hand using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression method. b) Explain the meaning of the constant term ?1 and comment on its size and sign. Calculate the t-ratio for ?1 and determine whether ?1 significant at the 5% level. (Note that the standard error of the estimate of ?1 is 6.181). c) Explain the meaning of the slope coefficient ?2 and comment on its size and sign. Carry out a t-test and state whether the coefficient is significant at the 5% level using a two-tail test. (Note that the standard error of the estimate of ?2 is 0.296). d) Explain the meaning of the R2 statistic and the adjusted R2 statistic. The adjusted R2 statistic for this regression is 0.4. Comment on its size and provide an interpretation of this figure. e) Outline the limitations of the OLS model specified in (a) above and suggest how these might be addressed by further statistical work and diagnostic tests. Section 3 3. You have been asked by a government Department to examine the determinants of consumer expenditure over time. They have provided you with the SPSS data set ‘Consumer Expenditure’ available on BLE. In particular they have asked you to consider the different factors that influence consumer expenditure, including, income, wealth and interest rates. Use the literature and theoretical reasoning to derive carefully specified hypotheses and then test these using OLS regression analysis (bi-variate and multivariate) in SPSS. Before running any regressions produce a correlation matrix of all variables and comment on the results in the Table (their size, sign and significance). After running regression models, write up your results, commenting on the goodness of fit of your model(s). Set out the hypotheses you are testing and comment on the size, sign and significance of the regression coefficients (?’s). Carry out diagnostic tests and discuss possible problems, such as multicollinearity, autocorrelation, simultaneous equations bias and the limitations of your results. Data: Available on Moodle for use in you last Lab session this week. Literature: there is a vast literature on the determinants of consumer expenditure. Carry out a literature search using the Web of Science Social Science Citation Index to locate relevant literature. Write-up your results clearly and carefully. Please do not simply cut and paste output from SPSS – look at how the results are presented in the articles discussed in Tutorial 1 (on BLE) and follow that style of presentation. Note that results that reject hypotheses are just as valuable as results that confirm hypotheses. The key thing is to write up your results as clearly and impartially as possible using your knowledge of quantitative methods and regression analysis.

Ethical issues surrounding the use of genetic information to inform precision medicine in clinical practice

this essay for my friend with the same topic . so, I want different writer and different references ) Both classical and unique ethical issues surrounding the use of genetic information to inform precision medicine in clinical practice. Describe examples of pharmacogenomic medicine and critically discuss the ethical issues for the patient, their family, medical practitioners, the health board and / or health insurance companies paying for the treatment, regulatory bodies and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The main body of the essay should be a maximum of 1500 words, not including references. Reference lists should be formatted appropriately using the Harvard style. Background reading is provided to help start your research. However, it should be noted that you have been provided with older reading material to give you the background. It is expected that you will use your own literature searches for original primary reference sources that are up to date with respect to current state of knowledge. -Use of a specific example. The use of specific examples of pharmacogenomics medicine is completely flexible. The focus of the essay is on the ethical issues facing patients, their families, medical practitioners, the health board and / or health insurance companies paying for the treatment, regulatory bodies and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The requirement to use examples is just to place these discussions on ethics in the “real world”. Therefore the way you use examples is entirely flexible. They can be theoretical, or real examples from your lectures. You can use different examples to highlight different issues, or you can use the same example throughout. You can present an introductory “case” focussing on a specific pharmacogenomics example, before embarking on your presentation of the ethical issues, or you discuss the ethical issues in general and then highlight an example as you progress. This is entirely up to you. But the key part of the task is to focus on and recognise the ethical issues for each of the groups above. -Background resources. You were provided with a set of literature to get you started on your research. These resources should be used as you to choose to support your essay. You can utilise the information and cite the references in your essay. However, you should also include more up to date references. By this it is meant that the background references were older and that there are perhaps more recent and updated information on ethical issues. Perhaps some of the theoretical issues presented in the resources have recently been studied in patient populations, perhaps there is recognition of new issues, etc. It is important to demonstrate, by citing appropriate references, that you read more widely than the provided resources to produce your essay.
