Consciousness

 INSTRUCTIONS;

8 full pgs, 2200 words;
WORK CITED PG IS NOT PART OF TERM PAPER

State as clearly as possible the problem or issue to be discussed and why it is important.

Puzzles, dilemmas, and thought experiments can introduce a topic as well as help advance a particular argument.

Carefully set out the various positions and objections that are associated with your thesis.

Give short quotations to support your claims about the positions and arguments you are discussing. Avoid long quotations (i.e. >4 lines).

Critically assess the arguments that are given. Draw attention to points that seem controversial, or just hard to understand.

On the basis of the evidence for the different alternatives, make a compelling case for the answer you prefer (you may or may not agree with the authors you discuss).

Essays will be graded on the quality of the writing, analysis, research, and argument, not on the particular conclusion you reach.

Employment relations: collective bargaining & workplace discrimination

 Step 1: Research
During the semester, read and research the media and identify two (2) issues that relate to the topic you have chosen. The aim is to end up with a number of different media articles (at least three) relating to each issue. With these, you may be able to trace the development of an issue or to consider how an issue is dealt with by different media. Remember to look at editorial comment as well as straight news reporting as this can provide more insight into an issue. Issues could include comment by politicians, business lobby groups, unions and others.
—- I have identified 2 issues:
1. Collective bargaining and penalty rates
2. Workplace discrimination
I’ll provide media articles that are related to the issues.

Step 2: The wider contexts
Once you have identified your issues you now need to consider the wider contexts in which
these issues sit. For the theoretical context you can go to the course work for this unit, or the
textbook might have other chapters that are relevant, or you could research the context
(briefly) using ProQuest or the electronic library or similar. For the wider context, you should
consider whether the issues you have identified have wider social, political or business implications. This is where considering editorial comment would be useful.

Step 3: Writing
This assessment is essentially a two-part discussion so it doesn’t follow the normal form for an essay or report. I suggest you set it out with a brief introduction and then just have the two issues set out in turn (with headings relating to each news topic if you like), and then a brief conclusion. If you can make any connections between the issues and the wider social, political or business contexts that is great, but not an essential requirement of the assessment. For each issue you will necessarily need to provide a brief summary of the facts, but take care to keep this to a minimum. You really just need to provide enough information so that the marker can
identify the issue.

I must use minimum 10 journal articles in addition to the media articles.

Innovation management

 Description:
Given that successful innovation is the process of successfully taking a technology/idea/invention to market, your selected innovation should be something which has already been successfully commercialised. Innovation is the management of all the activities involved in the process of: ? Idea generation (normally to solve a problem) ? Technology development? Manufacturing? Marketing of a new technology/idea/invention “The successful exploitation of new ideas”. (Trott, 2012) (i.e. innovation = invention + exploitation). You should therefor try to research an invention and exploitation process, as the aim of this exercise is create a case-study on how to manage successful innovation. Which innovation should you chose for Assignment 2? This project requires you to select an innovation that you personally find inspiring. The innovation that you select will relate to Innovation Management You will research and analyse all innovation aspects of the subject that you have selected (why is it innovative) The case order below depends on the story you will write, stage of growth and type of innovation. Therefore, try to find information on and comment on:? The Problem being solved? The Solution? The inventor/creator? Customers? Markets? Market Size? Execution plan? Revenue Model (how does it make money) ? Partners? Competition? Management? Financials? Closing the loop (conclusion) Typical Innovation case Structure??Write a story Approx. 20% on Story (problem) & Solution 25% on Markets, Existing Customers, Partners? 35% on Traction, Execution, Value Proposition, Revenue Model and Barriers to Entry? 20% on Team and Financials. please include all the references that you will use on the paper

Response to Kafka’s Metamorphosis

The paper is about what do you feel and think after reading Kafka’s Metamorphosis. It should be all from your own. You cannot reference to any kind of source.

Main points to write about: after he transform to a bug, how his family treat him differently; the relationships in the family; how people only care about the benefit others can brings to them, and when they can’t provide profit for them, they just abandoned them; the main character’s feelings after he got abandoned by his family.

You should expand and connect the story into our real society, not just write about the character that Kafka create, but to discuss a general phenomenon that exist in the society (or the society during Kafka’s time). The cold indifference between people, selfishness, how people use other even family to benefit themselves, etc.

The paper should be mainly about the connections you make, or your thoughts about these phenomenons, but not just repeating what happened in the book.

A research question informs the research design by providing a foundation for:
• generation of hypotheses in quantitative studies

9. Nature of the Study

Using one of the following terms as a subheading; provide a concise paragraph that discusses the approach that will be used to address the research question(s) and how this approach aligns with the problem statement. The subheadings and examples of study design are as follows:

Sources of information that support and clarify the problem belong in the Background section.
If you are thinking about collecting data on a sensitive topic or from a vulnerable population, an early consultation with the IRB (IRB@waldenu.edu) during your prospectus writing process is recommended to gain ethics guidance that you can incorporate into your subsequent proposal drafts and research planning. Find more information on the IRB Guides and FAQs page.

11. Possible Analytical Strategies (Optional)

Offer some possible ways to organize and analyze the results obtained by the research strategies detailed previously. A few examples of possible analytical strategies include multiple regression, content analysis, and meta-analysis. Keep in mind that data analysis approaches are generally decided after the research question and data collection approach are settled, so your strategy here may evolve and change as you develop your proposal.
