American grand strategies

This is a dissertation on American grand strategies in a changing international system. The first chapter, which is the theory chapter, will have to explain the different grand strategies (e.g. defensive realism, defensive liberalism, offensive realism and offensive liberalism) and the factors which give rise to these different grand strategies. It might be useful to refer to Benjamin Miller paper ‘ Explaining Changes in US Grand Strategy: The Rise of Offensive Liberalism and the War in Iraq’, as well as other sources. Only one thousand words is required for this first chapter. The second chapter will have to be on American grand strategies prior to 9/11. The third chapter on how American grand strategies changed after 9/11 during the Bush administration. With chapter 2 and 3, it would be preferred if relatable IR theory is employed to support the arguments being made.
