Data Analysis Report

Directions: In your previous class, Action Research I, your final project was a data collection report. You will refer back to (and continue that project) in this class.

In the data collection report from Action Research I, one of the sections focused on presenting primary data that addressed your problem or issue. In LP1, you will now apply data analysis techniques to that information as a means of interpreting it so it can be used moving forward.

For this short report, you should first compose a short introduction that summarizes the project to date. Go back to your final report for Action Research I for a start. The introduction should remind the reader of the problem, how you gathered data, who your subject groups were, and what data you generated. The introduction should be 2-3 paragraphs in length.
The next section of the report (entitled Data Categories) should categorize the data and findings. Please be sure that you do not just report all the findings, but properly categorize and organize them into logical groups. This section should be 2-3 paragraphs in length.

The report should then select one of the alternatives for extending understanding, and apply it to the data. Thus, you should extend understanding and explain the significance of the findings and how they help to address/answer the original research questions and problem. This section should be entitled Data Analysis and should be 2-3 paragraphs in length.
Finally, you should end the report with a one paragraph conclusion.

In total, your write up should contain the headings “Introduction”, “Data Categories”, “Data Analysis” and “Conclusion”. The report should be 7-10 paragraphs long (2-3 pages

Animal spirits and moral sense – is morality rooted in evolution?

Hey, in our philosophy class we need to write a group paper about “Animal spirits and moral sense – is morality rooted in evolution?“

The chapters are divided by the group members. I need to write about the second part, â€animal Spirits€œ.

Here you can see our structure to get an overall idea:
1. Introduction
2. Animal Spirits
3. Morality
3.1 Morality in the Empirical Sense
3.2 The three stage account of the evolution of morality
3.3 Evolutionary Biology and Morality
4. The Link between Animal spirits and moral sense
5. Conclusion

So please write only about the second Part.
We found a book called â€animal Spirits€ from George A. Akerlof & Rober J. Shiller(2009). Please refer mostly and strongly to that. Further, since we are economics students, please find a linkage to financial economics and use for this part other references.

Decision analysis techniques

This assignment requires you to write a 1500 word report answering the following question/s:
Due to recent signs of recovery JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is considering expanding to one of these countries: Brazil, Russia, or Canada
After gathering information from data bases, journals, websites, case studies, and textbooks apply decision- making techniques to decide which country is chosen by JLR.
You should communicate your decision-making process to senior management and explain the rationale of your decision. Clearly state any assumptions you have made.

LO1. Identify and select sources of data and information relevant to the decision making process
LO2. Analyse and present information to support global decision making
LO3. Communicate results of information analysis and decision making
LO4. Comprehend the range of tools and techniques available as support for managerial global decision making.

You should take the role as a consultant making decisions for the justification and presentation to senior management.
This is a hypothetical scenario – therefore you need to use the tools, techniques and analytical skills taught.

In order to secure a mark in this range, a candidate must submit an outstanding answer that could hardly be bettered. In addition to the criteria identified below for a mark between 70-85%, an answer scoring a mark of 85-100% would show an excellent level of understanding and critical/analytic skills and originality. For example, such an answer would include new insights and opportunities into JLR’s e-commerce activities such as online retailing and consumer behavior considering social space and e-business operations which are not drawn from the literature but from the student’s own critical thinking, and which add something to the existing literature.
As for the decision making part, an answer in this range will have a thorough analysis of the decision making process. It will clearly justify and document every step in the decision making process. It will demonstrate how the relevant data is collected, will clearly cite the data sources and will remain factual. It may as well have sensitivity analysis embedded in the answer.

PLEASE INCLUDE SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS AND COMPLEXITY, A DECISION TREE, DECISIONS WITH MULTIPLE CRITERIA.

SOME DELEGATED RESEARCH
You are manager of bio medical engineering at Central Hospital. You are discussing an information need with your superior, general services vice president Peter Gideon. You both agreed that your equipment maintenance and repair records were not revealing the kind of information they needed€”nature of breakdown and failures, maintenance problems, and unique situations encountered€”to design an effective preventive maintenance program.
Gideon asks, â€since we started the department year before last haven€™t we kept records of all the work done by you and the technicians?”
You respond, â€sure we have, but they wont€™t tell us anything useful without lots of digging. We have nearly 24 month€™s worth of completed work orders filed in chronological order€
â€could someone sort through the work orders and separate them by kind of work required?”
“I suppose so,” you reply, â€but I done€™t have time to do it myself and both techs are swamped with open work orders. I guess I could always get my secretary, Sharon, to do it. Just tell her what I want and let her go about collecting it in her own way.”
Gideon asks, â€does Sharon know the language? All of the work order codes? You might want to provide her with some detailed instructions and maybe even give her a deadline for completion or a schedule for finishing various steps of the project€
You answer, “I done€™t see much point in delegating the job if I’m going to have to do all that work just to get ready. It ought to be enough for me to give her my objectives, suggest an approach, let he add her own ideas to it, and turn her loose€
â€could this become a regular part of her job?”
â€It should,” you stated. “Her’s or somebody€™s. Then we could monitor the kinds of information we need rather than having to dig for it like we are now€
Gideon states, â€between us we seem to have tossed out three ways of using Sharon on this project€ He proceeded to outline the three possibilities as:
1. Tell her what€™s wanted and let her do it in her own way.
2. Provide her with expected results, a procedure or other instructions, and a schedule or deadline.
3. Tell her what€™s wanted, recommend an approach, and turn her loose.

Questions to guide your response:
1. Assuming Sharon is qualified for the project, what should determine whether you do indeed assign the task to her rather than doing it yourself or looking for another way?
2. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of the three possibilities outlined above
3. Which of the three approaches should you most seriously consider following? Why?

Instructions:
Describe in detail what you would do if you in this situation. Use the questions above to guide your analysis. Written responses should range in length from 400-500 words. Your response should be thoughtfully organized and free from typos. Postings are worth 10 points total. For full credit, you must cite at least one page in our textbook or other reference material (journal article, website, Power Point slides, etc.). Use APA style citations.
