Do not play around with the margins and narrow them because Research Paper

There are due dates for your topic and progress. Failure to meet a due date will result in losing 5% from your final paper grade. (e.g. 100% down to 95%). No excuses will be granted. Font should be 12-point and Times New Roman. Do not play around with the margins and narrow them because I will catch this and you will lose points. You may pick any public health issue. However, you must have my approval of the topic before you continue. You may pick a topic or a portion of a topic we discuss in class as long as you do not duplicate what is covered. For example, you could choose to write your paper on the U.S. health care system and future reform, the Arizona immigration law and debate, or write about the H1N1 flu and coverage from the scientific and media points of views. A key to this paper is to look at the issue from multiple perspectives. Thus, you must utilize at least two perspectives. Perspective is essential to the course and this paper so view your topic in the same manner.

Intervention Evaluation: Assessment and Diagnosis Delete this space…Christine Goss Chamberlain College of Nursing Nursing 443 Community Health Nursing January 2016 Guideline for Caring for Populations Milestone Research Paper

Guideline for Caring for Populations Milestone 2: Assessment and Diagnosis Delete this space…Christine Goss Chamberlain College of Nursing Nursing 443 Community Health Nursing January 2016 Guideline for Caring for Populations Milestone 2: Assessment and Diagnosis The community identified in this evaluation is the Mobile neighborhood that is located along the gulf coast in Alabama. It exists in a midsize city with plenty of amenities for recreation. The city has a sufficient number of health facilities for general health care. Also, there are well-built public infrastructure items, and people appear to take care of their property as well. The city has mixed population characteristics. Nice introduction, Christine; however, you should also include a specific statement of purpose for your paper. For example: The purpose of this paper is to…. Community Overview The community of Mobile is mainly white, and there are a sizable number of minority groups that include Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians. The community is busy with commercial and administration related activities for the entire Gulf coast. It is a business center with many interests being from outside Mobile. Thus, there are a sizable number of newcomers to the city every year. Demographic Data According to the US Census Bureau (year), Mobile County has a population of 415,123 people. The annual population change for 2014 was 0.5%, and the distribution of the population is mostly Whites, at 60.1%. Blacks are the second most populous race in the county, and they make up about 35% of the total population. The majority of the residents have been living in the same house from 2009-2013, which indicates that they have a fair knowledge of their neighborhood and its activities, as well as the location of most public amenities. The number of people with high school qualifications or higher is large, and the 2014 census numbers estimate this figure at 83.9% (United States Census Bureau, 2015). Good discussion of demographic data pertaining to Mobile, but there is no comparison of this data with state/national level data. Epidemiological Data In Mobile, Alabama, the percentage of people smoking as adults is 24%, the adult obesity prevalence is 36%, and the physical inactivity prevalence is 29%. Meanwhile, 74% of the population has access to exercise facilities. The key problems of the country are excessive drinking at 15%, alcohol-impaired driving deaths at 38% and sexually transmitted diseases that number 817 cases. Out of 67 counties, Mobile ranks number 42. Regarding clinical care, 18% of the population has no insurance. However, there are a sufficient number of health professionals working as dentists, primary care physicians, and mental health providers. They number more than 1000 for the respective categories (CountyHealthRankings.org, 2015). The unemployment rate in the county is 7.5%. Another noteworthy characteristic is the environment that affects the health of residents. In this category, the county is ranked 49 out of 67. Drinking water violations are reported as 3% annually. Most people drive alone to work, and the percentage that commutes for long alone is 32% (CountyHealthRankings.org, 2015). Again, no comparison with state/national level data, but you do provide a thorough overview of Mobile. Windshield Survey From the first milestone, the noted problem was that many residents of Mobile are managing chronic illnesses. The focus on health care has been to cure, and many people are not aware of the need to concentrate on healthy lifestyles. Therefore, they are ending up with chronic disease conditions that they have to spend time and other resources to manage. This explains another observation on milestone one where there are specialist hospital facilities for dentistry, cancer and children’s illnesses. Besides, the hospital where I work has annual programs for boosting community awareness of preventive health care, and this arose out of a need to correct a problem that has been increasing in magnitude. The number of recreational centers and entertainment centers in Mobile is growing as the government seeks to improve business opportunities. Unfortunately, these are also associated with less time spent on exercising. Moreover, the demographic and epidemiological data show that many people spend time alone and are at risk of developing unhealthy habits like smoking. Problem Diagnosis The nursing problem affecting Mobile is a lack of campaigns on preventive health awareness. Preventive health is not being presented to residents in a comprehensive manner. Many residents are interacting with nursing professionals and health institutions after they have developed preventable health problems. There is a need to have nurses going out to the community or using their practices in hospitals and other specialty centers to effect a change in behavior. Community health policing is necessary for the county of Mobile. The cost of health care will skyrocket if the chronic health problems are not addressed early. The majority of the people has health insurance and may see no need for seeking information about preventive health care. There is a need for nurses to come up with strategies for behavior change (Van Baal et al., 2008). Demographic characteristics place Mobile County as a well-educated community with sufficient exercising and health facilities for its slow-growing population. Based on Healthy People 2020, people need to be informed so that they can promote quality of life, healthy development, and healthy behaviors across all life stages (Sturm, 2002). In this regard, the emphasis of nursing intervention should be to increase the quality of life of Mobile County from the current ranking of 23% to about 46%. In addition, the prevalence of obesity and smoking should be reduced to single digit percentages. Summary Mobile County ranks poorly in the health of its people and its biggest problem is in the lack of sufficient preventive health focus. The county has enough health care resources, but nurses need to concentrate more on community health education to reduce the prevalence of obesity and smoking that are associated with chronic illnesses. These are the two factors causing the health care infrastructure to grapple with many lifestyle illness problems. Nice summary. This tells the reader the clear direction you are trying to focus for your problem. References CountyHealthRankings.org. (2015). Alabama 2015 – Mobile (MO) County snapshot. Merger and Acquisitions: analyze it using the concepts found within the class Research Paper

The objective is to deconstruct the framework of an article and analyze it using the concepts found within the class. Your critique will likely expose conflicting concepts and meaning, biases, and other weaknesses detracting from the ability of the article to help solve a problem. For example, if you read a Depression-era journal article about bank regulation, you will find its frameworks outdated assumptions will not help you address the problems facing twenty-first-century banks. (In fact, the framework may be the cause of current problem observed within the banking industry!) Thus, it is important to understand how to deconstruct an article, grapple with its utility, and possibly transform it into a relevant modern study or perspective. You may be asking, Why do I need to learn about deconstruction? The ability to deconstruct an argument or article is an important skill for understanding whether research findings, conceptual frameworks, basic concepts, and conclusions remain relevant to your research. Determining whether a finding, concept, or other element of an article remains relevant offers a chance to build sound arguments using previous research, find research topics, and wrangle with decision and policy processes relying upon a mixture of concepts and data. Such opportunities avail you to the argument and its counterarguments surrounding research, business, and academic problems while enhancing your critical thinking skills. In essence, you will have the chance to develop a skill allowing you to see more than one side of an argument. The analysis requires the additional components: Three APA formatted short quotes used to support the paper. Two APA formatted figures representing the initial and revised framework. APA formatted paper including: o Font: Times New Roman, 12 point, and double-spaced. o Margins: One-inch margins, all around. o Indents: One-half inch indent as to begin a paragraph. o Proper APA citations and references. o Proper use of Level 1 and Level 2 headings. o A proper title page. o A reference page utilizing hanging indents and alphabetized by the last name of the first author. Free of spelling errors and minimal use of passive voice. preferably on one of the following topics: Analysis and Valuation Bankruptcy Reorganization and Liquidation or Divestitures, Spin-Offs, Carve-Outs, Split-Offs, and Tracking Stocks
