Choose one international human rights institution (e.g. the Universal Periodic Review, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights) and
discuss the challenges it faces and opportunities it provides in ensuring human rights compliance. Discuss with reference to specific
human rights standards introduced in the module, and draw on concrete examples, or a case study, in designing your essay.
Please note that both essay tasks require you to tailor and design your original essay question. All essays must provide an argument, i.e.
your answer to the essay question. I will attach a copy of the course syllabus.
