Each review should be no more than 500 words. The review should explain key concepts, methodology, and relevance of the article and its limitations in direct relation to your chosen essay topic. Rationale This task enables you to showcase your individual skills of analysis and critical thinking by exploring two of the journal articles you will be using for your essay. Three things you can do to improve your use of journals in your writing Presentation Basic guidelines: All assessment items must be neatly presented on A4 sized paper, typed on one side, stapled in the top left hand corner without plastic cover sheets or similar covers. Please leave 2.5cm margins left and right and double or 1.5 line space your work, so that there is ample space for lecturers to comment. Font must be 12pt, unless otherwise indicated. Times New Roman is preferred for the body of the document. All pages must be numbered. Student name and number must be included in the header or footer of every page of the assignment. All assignments should be accompanied by a completed assignment cover sheet and a title page which includes: student name and student number; subject code and subject name; subject lecturer; assessment title, e.g. Assignment 1, factors affecting student outcomes; due date; actual date of submission. word count (excluding essay question, any titles and referencing) All students are asked to sign a statement (on their assignment cover sheet or electronically if submitted via EASTS) declaring that: the assignment is their own work; they are aware of CSU’s requirements on Academic Integrity; and acknowledge that CSU may use electronic plagiarism detection tools. Referencing guidelines The Faculty of Science recommends that all referencing should be in accordance with the APA Style Guidelines (American Psychology Association). Correct and consistent referencing is an important component of producing professional and credible academic work; marks will be deducted for inadequate referencing.
