This report has as its goal to pursue a deeper and more personal engagement with the importance of social ethics for worship and the practice of faith. The passage to be studied is Isaiah 58. You will consult the resources that are provided. Papers should consist of (a) a summary of the content of the chosen chapter and (b) substantive reflection on the implications of that study, respectively, for evaluating worship practices today or for defining Christian mission and hope in the world. (c) Students are encouraged to find New Testament passages that echo in some way the concerns of these Old Testament passages.
