My accomplishments are I am an active member of National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA). Volunteering at two centers Red Blocks Therapy and Flowers Reach Therapy center. Working with children who have autism and communication disorders.

Working as Speech Pathologist, I can see my efforts positively impacting people in need. This has always been a passion of mine. I started my venture as a sociology student, here I learned the social dynamics of societies, and their issues. All this new information and knowledge sent me out on a self-journey to discover what role I played in this bigger picture. Sociology is a board field, with endless possibilities but one topic just stuck me. This was the concept of sociolinguistics. The study fascinated me, and I needed to become more involved and acquire more insight about the field. After doing research on different professionals I had my mind set on Speech-Language Pathology. Speech-Language Pathology. I feel that the graduate program at Sunny Skies University would help me fulfill this passion by providing the education I need to become an SLP.
After my graduation in under grad studies in Sociology I simply did not stop there. I applied to work in a Speech-Language Pathology clinic to emerge myself in field and test this new found passion. My Therapy Center provided internal training that allowed me to better under ASHA’s policies and the administrative backend of the Speech clinic. Alongside this, Red Blocks Therapy allowed me to observation hours of the staff, SLP’s and SLP-A’s. Soon after I began to work as a developmental tutor. Working as a developmental tutor in a Speech clinic exposed me to working with a population of children who had communication disorders. This position exposed me to the clinical environment, where I worked with the population of children who had communication disorders, ASD and language delays. In order to work with these children I consulted with SLPs, to see what strategies would best serve to improve their academics, considering the CSD challenges. Write here what skill I gained towards grad school. Working in Angel’s Reach provided me with the experience I need to serve a special population. This experience has provided me with the tools needed to work with a diverse population. In flower therapy I work under direct supervision of MA BAC certified behavior therapist, the emphasis in this program taught me about behaviors, general learning skills, communication, and social interaction therapeutic techniques and practices. ( what challenges did I overcome, what skills did I gain) Provided direct therapeutic interventions to the clients, by teaching, modeling, and coaching of ABA techniques directed to increase language and communication skills, social skills, appropriate play skills, cooperation skills, and daily living skills.
I want to start my own non-profit, driving force to bring equally and services who really need it.
