MS1 excel project

This project will test your ability to create, develop, collect data, summarize data, and analyze a problem. You will be comparing two sets of data. You want to know if the two samples of data you are investigating are very similar or very different. Use continuous data for this project.

Step 1 What is your claim? What do you plan to investigate? Explain the data you plan to explore. Write your null and alternative hypothesis.
Step 2 Determine what the variable of interest will be. You should collect data on one variable only but for two samples.
Step 3 Determine what measurement you should collect. Use continuous data only.
Step 4 Collect your data. You should collect between 12 to 24 observations for each sample. You should collect two samples to compare to each other.
Step 5 Use the box and whisker plots to show a summary of your data. Use the template I provided in your notes. See Part 1 notes.
Step 6 Use a two sample t-test to analyze you data. Show your work.
Step 7 Summarize your data
1 point Write an introduction and include the null and alternative hypothesis.
1 point Represent the data with a box and whisker plot. Provide the actual data values as well.
1 point Show the two sample t-test statistic, the critical value, and the alpha level. Choose your own alpha level, assume equal variances.
Use df = n1 + n2 ? 2
1 point Write a conclusion. Include the test statistic, the critical value and the alpha level in your conclusion.
