Choose one of the following four buildings found within the City of Ottawa and provide a detailed analysis of the building’s architectural elements. In order to identify the structures’ artistic style and period, you will explore the architectural features of the building’s exterior. Within your paper, identify the location of the building, its current use, the architect and the date of its construction. Additionally, you are required to compare similar examples from your textbook and examples discussed in class to place the building within its art historical context.
In order to complete this assignment, students are required to independently visit the building and take close observational notes on the building’s EXTERIOR. For additional reference on architectural elements and features, please refer to the glossary of terms in your course textbook. A bibliography with footnotes is required for this assignment.
