The Portfolio offers a space for gathering your thoughts while interacting with the class materials. Each entry should reflect both of these goals. Timely Preparation Portfolio entries are to be prepared in advance of the class meeting for which they are assigned. Bring your portfolio entry to class. A paper copy can be optimal for reading and sharing. If, however, your entry is in electronic format, you may bring it on a thumb drive or email it to yourself. Format The entries may be written reflections, digital or sonic performance, creative writing, etc., which respond to the portfolio exercise question by engaging with the course materials and themes. Each portfolio item is designed to take about an hour to produce. Written entries, including essay, creative writing, spoken word, etc., should be about a page and a half, double spaced, 12 pt font. Entries that are not written: the connection with the assignment and course materials must be clear. It is recommended that some written material, from a sentence or two to a half page, accompany such visual or sonic entries. Portfolio assignments that are performed in class: your entry for that day should be a sentence or two stating what you performed and its connection with the assignment. Entries prepared by more than one person must appear in each participant’s portfolio. Portfolios that are missing one or more steps will be returned for reformulation. . 1. Each portfolio entry should be numbered and dated 2.
