Pregnant Employee- Discharge of the and/ or Discharge issues

• Develop a research topic or your choosing within the areas of Employment Law. A listing of potential topics is provided below. • Please let your instructor know your topic choice by March 7th prior to going on Spring Break. Most of you will have to narrow down the topic in order to do justice to the chosen topic in a short paper. • Your paper should summarize your topic with emphasis on work situations where the problem might arise. • A good starting point might be a fictitious (or real –life) situation or scenario relating to your topic(sexual harassment incident or wrongful discharge for example). You could construct your paper as either a briefing document for the CEO of your company for that particular situation or as a guideline for developing a company policy for the particular issue you have chosen. Be Creative • Ensure that your reader understands the legal basis for the issue/action—for example, does it come directly from the law or statute(Title VII comes to mind) or from recent court decisions, etc. • Format: a. A Title page with your name, Course # and Title of Paper, and date b. Main body of paper should be a minimum of 5 typewritten pages, double spaces using 11 or 12 Font with 1” margins c. Number your pages(use header or footer) d. A Works Cited page using MLA Format listing all your resources e. Use MLA format for parenthetical documentation within the body of your paper for information cited directly(direct quotes) or indirectly (paraphrased) from your source material. See comments on plagiarism on the Paper Grading Information Sheet f. Sources: use at least two other references other than your text book
