Select and describe one current policy that addresses the problem. Explain how the current policy impacts on the delivery of services designed to address the problem.
Use the following as topical titles in your paper and answer the following questions:

What is the name of the policy or the legislative act you will be analyzing?
Goal:
a. What is the overall goal (purpose)?
b. Are there sub-goals? If so, identify them.
Support for and Opposition to the Policy:
a. Who supports the policy? Why?
b. Who opposes the policy? Why?
Implementation of Social Welfare or Health Programs Related to the Policy:
a. What social welfare or health programs have been implemented as a result of the policy?
b. What are the services or benefits provided by each program?
c. Are the programs effective?
d. What are the strengths (benefits to the people) and weaknesses (problems) of each program?
Intended Impact of Legislation:
a. What was supposed to be the result of the legislation?
b. Who was supposed to be affected?
c. In what ways was the social problem supposed to be changed?
Actual Impact:
a. What are the costs and benefits of the policy?
b. Has the social problem actually changed? If yes, describe how. Did the social problem decrease? Are things better, the same, or worse? Provide statistics.
c. Are there unintended consequences of the policy? If yes, describe them.
