James Simmons- Academics,goals, fears,concerns
I am currently applying for an MBA program. My major is marketing. I have been out of college for over 10 years however I have shown the
tenacity to set goals of higher learning. To make the readjustment to understand academia once again despite not being prepared to take
the GRE,GMAT standard tests. A lot of the process which I may have forgotten about college did not discourage me because I am determined
to make a better standard of living for myself.
We learn to move slowly despite the mental anguish and bruises we experience throughout life. Wether we learn to walk despite the many
falls we endure. But as we get older and wiser we tend to gain a better self consciousness of the world around us. Nonetheless, we are
presented with failure ,at which point some people will try to eliminate most risks from their life. But where would we be without a sense
of exploration (failure vs success).
James Simmons-Life changing experience (childhood)
As a child my grandfather would educate me on the value of “a penny saved is a penny earned” concept. We would take weekly trips to the
bank and deposit small amounts of money each week. Grandfather would explain that each deposit adds up over the years. My grandfather had
that business tenacity which was instilled in me at an early age. This has helped to make me become business minded person studying in a
business academic setting in school, and very self self reliant.
James Simmons- Employment background
I have 10 years of employment experience in marketing, finance, behavior health. I have been employed consistently over the past 10 years
working in both the public and private sector. I have directed sales teams, and helped companies increase their bottom line, and gained a
sense of self fulfillment. Nonetheless, I have reached a plateau in my life in which I require immediate change. I want to answer my
higher calling of academic aptitude
James Simmons- Undergraduate college and personal experience
Some of my college struggles consisted of being a full time student and having to work a full time job. I had to pay off my own college
tuition. I had no guidance during my undergraduate years in college. I held off going back to college for several years for fear of
failure, and isolation. .
