Write an exposition and interpretation of each of the parables built upon the two things, figures or events you have chosen. Aim for 4-6 paragraphs in total. In your short essay you must (1) explain the specific meaning of each parable, (2) clarify the relation of these parables to Tao and wu-wei, which are the central notions of Taoism. Naturally, your very first responsibility is to study the text and context in which each parable appears in Zhuangzi. In other words, read widely into the before and after of each passage so that you can better discern its meaning. Also, remember that our text of Zhuangzi has a very generous collection of commentary at the back.
