The organization of the paper must include: an introduction, a description of the relevant existing literature, the hypotheses to be tested, the data analysis and substantive conclusions. Students will write and be graded on a draft of the first three sections (Research Proposal; 10 points) and a draft of the analysis and conclusions section (Research Analysis; 10 points) over the course of the semester. The final research paper will then be based on these drafts, expanded and revised as needed. Students will be graded on writing as well as statistical analysis and interpretation. Papers should be approximately fifteen pages, excluding the title page, statistical tables and bibliography.
