The student is required to prepare a term paper consisting of a discussion and analysis of a psychotropic medication. The student should examine the psychopharmacological effect of the medication, the psychological condition (s) in which it is used, the advantages and disadvantages of its use, and its efficacy. The paper should be 8 – 10 pages in length and is due in Week 7 of the course. The paper will be worth 100 points. Part of the paper will require that the student also research outside reference materials in the form of scientific journal articles, books, media reports and web sites. The additional purpose of this assignment is to increase the student’s familiarity with research for psychology and informational databases. The student will use the research findings in the analysis of the chosen medication.
