4. THIS IS NOT A BOOK REVIEW. It is a compare/contrast investigation. Choose several elements to compare, such as: plot, characterization, mood, action, depth or insight, competence or strategies in rendering themes, overall impact, moral of the story, setting and so on. Avoid just scene comparisons (i.e. “they left this out of the movie…” or “this was different in the movie than the book”). Also, you can strengthen your work by including direct quotes from the film and book to illustrate your points.
5. For the Questions and Answers, divide the book into 5 sections (take the total number of pages and divide by 5 or take the number of chapters and divide by 5, or choose 5 sections that would make the most sense to you). After reading each section, design and answer a set of study questions. Be sure to include at least one question from each level of Bloom’s Taxonomy (see Guidelines for Study Questions Handout, and draw benefit from the following website as needed). That means there will be at least 6 study questions for each section and at least 30 questions in total for the entire book. Once again, be sure to CREATE and ANSWER your questions.
