Malaysian Airline Flight MH370 (Crisis Management & Crisis Communication)

Critically evaluate the handling of the event in terms of both crisis management and crisis communication efforts and provide recommendations for improvement where appropriate. Give a brief outline of the organisational crisis (Missing Malaysian Airline Flight MH370) and the events which occurred. This should include background information about the organisation and about the crisis – limit this to no more than approx. 400 words I would recommend that you do a timeline of events for the incident – Note: what happened and when, who responded and when, what did they say, what action did they take etc. (Please note report should not be descriptive but analytical) ¥ Outline the key business continuity issues which they faced and how these were managed e.g. Were there early warning signs? Who was involved? How did the crisis unfold? Consider the extent to which the business was disrupted? What did they do to minimise business interruption? How did they handle the media? How did they communicate the crisis to other stakeholders? Consider the impact the event had on the organisation: the scale of the event; the cost to the company – short term & long term; consider the organisations various stakeholders, in what ways were they impacted? NOTE: this is not an exhaustive list for you to work your way through, these are just some ideas for you to think about. Concentrate on which of these aspects are most important for your crisis and consider issues over and above these suggestions where possible. KEY POINT: THIS MUST BE ANALYSED THROUGHOUT IN RELATION TO RELEVANT ACADEMIC THEORY AND LITERATURE. EXPLAIN THE EVENTS IN TERMS OF THEORY ON CRISIS MANAGEMENT AND CRISIS COMMUNICATION ¥ Provide an evaluation of how effectively the company handled the event, how did they deal with the issues they face & how successful were they. ¥ Consider where the company could have employed better business continuity management/crisis management to handle the event more effectively. NOTE: again this should be analysed in relation to crisis management theory/academic literature – consider what makes good crisis management or good crisis communication for example and see if this could have been applied to your case. ¥ Ensure you DO NOT provide merely a descriptive narrative of the events you must show evidence of critical thinking – e.g. link up the events to the relevant theory studied in the module, compare with similar events that were handled better/worse, provide suggestions for improvement (must be supported by literary evidence), demonstrate a wide range of reading: books, academic & professional journals, internet resources, annual reports, company websites etc.

Where Does it All Go

Integrating responsible behavior into the DNA of business often requires first becoming aware of one’s own conduct and how it measures up to one’s own standards of socially responsible business behavior. Students will be asked to track their expenditures for seven consecutive days (i.e., one week). They are to create a log or diary of their purchases and maintain receipts (where applicable) as supporting documents of expenditures made in the week. After documenting the weekly expenses, students write an essay of not more than 1000 words reflecting on their expenditure patterns to judge their own state of social responsibility and to what extent and with what intensity the latter actually influences their economic decisions. Scanned copies of actual receipts (where possible) are to be submitted along with the written assignment. Students also need to submit in the assignment a table detailing on a day-by-day basis a description of the various expenditures incurred and their respective amounts in a currency of their choice. Please read instructions carefully, I will attach copy of receipts for 4 days, for the rest days please improvise. Keep in mind that I live in Dubai

International Law Research Essay

Essay Question The sources of International Law have been criticized by various scholars on the basis that they are not truly sources of law. Fitzmaurice, in his article ‘Some Problems Regarding the Formal Sources of International Law’ (1958) Symbolae Verzijl 153, asserts that treaties are a source of obligation rather than a source of law. Dunbar, in his article ‘The Myth of Customary International Law’ (1983) 8 Australian Yearbook of International Law 1, claims that customary international law does not exist. Guggenheim and Tunkin, amongst others, state that the source ‘general principles of law’ adds nothing to what is already included in treaties and customary law. Judicial decisions and the teachings of the most highly qualified publicists are said to represent evidence of the law, rather than sources of the law. Are any or all of these criticisms valid? If any of the sources of International Law can be impugned, what implications does this have for the viability of International Law as a legal system? Format of Work Essays must be in the following format: The research essay must take the form of a coherent and cohesive essay. Sub-headings are an effective organizational device. The maximum length for the body of the essay is EIGHT PAGES. Additional pages will not be read. Footnotes must be organized so as to appear in a separate section, to be entitled Endnotes. The Endnotes section of the essay is to be placed after the body of the essay, and is not to be included within the eight page limit specified above. Footnotes must only contain references to other sources. Do not include ‘text’ (whether original words or quotations) in any footnotes. A Bibliography must also be attached, but again it is not to be included in the eight page limit of the body of the essay. All pages must be numbered. All pages must be in black type, on white A4 paper, printed on one side only, with 3 cm. margins on all sides. The font size must be 12 point font using the ‘Times’ font and line spacing must be double-spaced. Essays must conform to the format outlined above. Marks will be deducted for failing to do so. Acknowledgement and Referencing USE AGLC referencing style. You must acknowledge all source s of information. You should ensure that you are familiar with the rules on referencing an acknowledgment. You should consult the University policy on Acknowledgement Practice, which is available in the Calendar, and on line. You should also be aware of the Policy on Plagiarism, which is on line, and set out in the Studying Law 2016 handbook. Plagiarism will not be tolerated, and if you do plagiarise, severs penalties will apply. Textbook: Donald R. Rothwell’s INTERNATIONAL LAW CASES & MATERIALS WITH AUSTRALIAN PERSPECTIVES Marking Criteria In assessing your answer to the essay, the marker will be evaluating the extent to which you have : a) made your answer – and each part of your answer – relevant to the question; b) developed and sustained clear, structured and critical argument; c) employed a concise, clear writing style; d) effectively made use of research beyond the prescribed readings; e) adhered to the format requirements.

Quality improvement

NU 613 GUIDELINES FOR QI ASSIGNMENT Student Name: Quality improvement (QI) can be defined as the effort to better patient outcomes, system performance, and professional development (Batalden & Davidoff, 2007). The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has challenged professionals to improve healthcare quality, with quality described using the following six domains: safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency, equity and patient-centeredness. These quality aims provide a framework for focusing improvement efforts. The unrelenting engagement of all providers is required to transform healthcare. APNs are well positioned to lead quality initiatives by virtue of their advanced knowledge and preparation. To effectively lead quality improvement requires understanding that organizations are complex adaptive systems; dynamic, unpredictable, and are composed of moving parts. Knowledge of theoretical underpinnings of change (theory explicating the phenomenon of human behavioral change) is foundational to successful improvement. A wide variety of QI models, tools, and methods are available to guide the APN in facilitating improvement. For this assignment, select a practice improvement issue within your organizational system and within the realm of your practice area. Using the grading rubric as a guide, develop a quality improvement plan to address the identified issue. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate knowledge of the essential elements of quality improvement, with change theory as an underpinning for the process. Students are not expected to implement the plan; however, the process for implementation and evaluation is addressed as part of the planning process. The paper should be carefully written in a formal style, based on primary sources, provide an integration of ideas, and be 4-6 pages in length, excluding title page & reference list. Organized flow, logical progression of ideas, and clarity in thought are essential. Please use headings to separate content. Deductions: Papers over the page limit will be penalized by a disregard of content over the page limit. Scholarship Expectations: A lack of Scholarship deduction of up to 20% of the total point value of the assignment will be applied to address such deficiencies as APA errors, Title or Reference page errors, a lack of clarity and conciseness in writing, grammatical and spelling errors, exceeding the prescribed page limit, and poor overall writing skills. For example, an assignment worth 15 points could have a maximum lack of scholarship deduction of 3points (20% x 15). The amount of the deduction will be at the discretion of the faculty member. You are clinical nurse scholars in the making. You are the nurses with advanced education/DNPs and members of the highly literate profession of advanced practice nursing who will chart the future of health care. Contingency part of the marketing plan

I just need the contingency section of the marketing plan to be done. I am including the initial proposal for the plan, the outline and the full directions for the complete marketing plan. Place use 4 references for the section. WRITING THE MARKETING PLAN Getting started: Perform background research on the business category to gain an understanding of buyer behavior, key industry players, key factors that influence the market, etc. (These sources should be shown in the Sources section of your paper. Identify the initial parts of a good marketing plan (i.e. competition, background industry information, and external impacts, etc.) Do a thorough SWOT analysis, and make it prominent in your report. This, of course, supports your recommendations. (Again, document all sources.) Do a study of consumer behavior based on demographics, and other secondary sources. (Document all sources.) Identify segments and differences between segments. From this background preparation, write the marketing plan to target the segment(s), complete with goals and strategies to support the pursuit of these goals (1st year to 5th year). See the sample outline below. It is suggested you start your work on this project early in the semester. You may consult with me at any time as you progress to completion. I will check with each student as to the progress of their marketing plan throughout the semester. Academic honesty is expected. Any instances of plagiarism will be dealt with in accordance with university policy. Charts and graphs (either in the body of the report or in appendices) are encouraged in order to illustrate certain key points in your marketing plan. SUGGESTED FORMAT OF THE MARKETING PLAN I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY-This is a summary and overview of your marketing plan. As a suggestion, write this last after you have completed the comprehensive marketing plan. (It will be easier to do.) Summarize the environment, the market profile, the information you have, goals for performance, etc. How does this plan fit with existing organizational policy? (2 pages) II. SITUATION ANALYSIS-This is also known as the SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats). Consider internal strengths and weaknesses of the marketing program and the ability of the organization (structure, leadership, talent, infrastructure, etc.) to support the marketing strategy. Consider external opportunities and threats in terms of sales analyses, competition, industry trends, customer profiles and potential, and other assumptions and constraints related to the plan, including: A. Market Analysis-Assess the market in terms of size, scope, market share, sales history, growth potential, etc. B. Industry Analysis-Assess the industry in terms of capacity, new entrants and ease of entry, substitutes, buying power of competitors. C. Competition-Assess the competition in terms of intensity, market share, brand identification, etc. D. Environmental Factors-Assess the external environment related to social, political, demographic, technological, and regulatory influences. III. OBJECTIVES-What are our goals and objectives with this strategy? Do these goals fit with the organizational goals? How did we determine these goals, and are they reachable in 3 to 5 years or longer? IV. MARKETING MIX-This is significant in any marketing plan. The entire marketing plan and strategic approach is built around the manipulation of the marketing mix. Consider: A. Products/Services-What are they? What are their features? What is the utility of it? Is it used for anything other than its intended purpose? B. Price-What level in consideration of the market profile and the intended niche? What will be its compensatory nature, i.e. throughout its life cycle? How will price position the product or service? What will be the most price per unit of issue, i.e. commercially and institutionally (if applicable)? C. Promotion-Who are we trying to reach? What will be the message? What will be the medium? What is the role of promotion in positioning? D. Place-Consider the channels to include distribution, location of target markets, method of selling, etc. Where are the customers? How are we going to get the products or services to our customers, and how difficult is it for us to reach them? Is there potential for ROI? V. INFORMATION SOURCES-This relates to control of the implementation of the marketing plan. How and who will monitor it? By what means will we measure performance? What will be the sources of information? Who has responsibility for the research? How will we revise the plan if necessary? What will be a good forecasting methodology? What will we do with feedback when we get it? Do we have a valid plan for measuring and benchmarking? VI. CONTINGENCIES-Is our plan flexible? Do we have contingencies? How do we deal with changes in the internal and external environment? (The SWOT is ongoing.) Do we have the latitude to revise our goals? What happens with a surge in demand or a decline? VII. BUDGET-What is our budget? Is it adequate? What type of work should we do in house, versus, outsourcing, for example? Who controls budget and how does the marketing team know how to stay within budget limitations? What are reporting requirements related to budgeting? VIII. IMPLEMENTATION-Who has responsibility for implementation? Do we have the talent to implement the plan? Do we have the resources to bring in new talent and/or outsource some of the responsibility for implementation? What are the reporting requirements over the duration of the plan from the marketing team, and to higher management? Note: Use the headings in bold to set up your marketing plan. You may use subheadings as you see fit. The questions included under each heading are for your consideration. They may not even be applicable to your plan. Moreover, you may have other questions and situations to consider for each heading dependent upon the unique nature of your project. For more details refer to the grading rubric for Marketing Plan. The body of the Marketing Plan should be no more than 20 pages. You should also include: a cover page, Table of Contents page, Reference page, and any appendices). Cite atleast 10 references (not including your texts or Wikipedia or other similar online encyclopedias). At least four of your references must come from referred journal articles. Please contact me at any time if you have questions. You may consult with any of your classmates at any time throughout the project, including by use of chat room.
