The Rise of the Nigerian property market by 2050

– formulate the rationale for a future business scenario set 40 years ahead following the
trends, predictions and guidelines already in place from the EU, UN and several
organisations who have already in place their vision for 2050, include a logical argumentation for how the business will adapt to the identified
environmental limitations and the main socio-political issues
– develop a strategy for sustainable innovation that will provide value creation and
competitive advantage. you should research existing industry standards and country/government laws
and regulations to understand how these affect business decisions in terms of sustainability
and how business leaders and global corporations (such as Unilever and Volkswagen) are
planning for 2050. The aim is to demonstrate understanding of the complex issues, risks and
opportunities business face and apply the appropriate knowledge, as well as creative and
entrepreneurial thinking to reach convincing solutions for a sustainable global business.
Through this project students are expected to document their rationale using credible
sources and bibliography based both on key readings on the module as well as in their
individual research. Please bear in mind that the assessment consists in the development of
a Project that can be presented in the format of a Business Plan, but NOT as an essay, NOR
as a report. A project must include a detailed description of the current situation, but the
main aim is to provide a set of realistic recommendations, fully supported by the most
relevant theoretical frameworks and models (e.g. existing standards, indexes or policies) and
perceived future trends. A project is forward thinking and is basically a fully justified action
plan for the near future: as such, a Project cannot have a Conclusion – only once the plan
starts to be implemented can we monitor and assess, draw conclusions and restructure the
plan or proceed to further developments. Therefore, you can include Final/Concluding
remarks, but not a ‘real’ conclusion.

The familiar phrase All men are created equal, has a complex history

The familiar phrase All men are created equal, has a complex history. On the one hand, equality appears to be a good thing, which is why it has been the goal of individuals and social movements at different points in the history of Western society. On the other hand, not all members of a given society would agree on what equality means in practice, or which people have a right to make a claim for equality, or whether equality has been achieved. One could argue, therefore, that while equality is an important concept in the history of Western society, it has been and remains contested. Discuss at least two specific historical examples as well as one issue of contemporary significance that illustrate these debates and struggles over the meaning and practice of equality.
A considered response will require two full paragraphs, about a page of printer text.

Examine the ways in which “The Talented Mr Ripley” by Patricia Highsmith and the “collected works of billy the kid” by Michael Ondaatje show two main characters as mirrors of one another

Generally a comparison essay is used to bring into focus the meaning and specific differences and similarities between two works that share a basic common element. This shared element is the basis for comparing the two texts in the first place and should be mentioned in your essay’s introduction.

Moving beyond this basic similarity, your essay should explore a number of key points of similarity and difference that will ultimately support a claim (THESIS) about the relation between the two texts. The element they share forms a topic of discussion between them. The specific points of similarity and difference you explore in the essay body will illustrate what each text uniquely contributes to that discussion.

Keep in mind that the comparison essay is NOT just a list of similarities and differences. You will selectively examine points where the texts intersect or are meaningfully opposed to one another. In order to draw some conclusions about how each one builds a unique picture of their shared topic.

Narrow a list of parallel aspects of the two texts

Highlight subtopics and connections that seem most significant or show the strongest relationship.

Categorize and group your brainstormed list, highlight the points that seem most interesting. Think about how these connections relate to one another and what bigger picture they build.

Write a brief statement that summarizes the specific topic these texts share and what each one is uniquely contributes to it. This will become your working thesis. You can then select from your list the clearest examples to demonstrate support of your thesis and explore these in the body of the paper.

Your introduction

-overview of the topic at hand, framing the two texts being compared. Define the basic element both texts share.
-Narrow your focus: what terrain is being covered in this essay?
– define the relationship between the texts, how does each shed light on the other, how do they together create a more complete understanding of the issue at hand? Do they present opposed visions of this issue? Does each shed light on a different aspect of the topic?

Body Part 1

Explore details of Text A that contribute to the discussion. Three points about Text A
Conclude what has been said about Text A and gives a mini-introduction/reminder of what we will now explore in Text B.

Body Part 2

Explore parallel details of Text B that show meaningful similarities and differences with Text A.
– Make 3 points about Text B but always comparing to Text A. ex. In comparison with Text A, Text B…

Conclusion

Affirms thesis has been proven – a particular relationship between the texts has been shown. Discuss what it all adds up to- What is the different effect of each text on the reader. what different perspective does each take and what have we learned about each by viewing their details in comparison to one another?

Leadership occurs in context and is increasingly complex due to globalisation and a myriad of ethical considerations

Leadership occurs in context and is increasingly complex due to globalisation and a myriad of ethical considerations. The successful leader is able to synthesise varied knowledge, draw conclusions, and exercise judgement appropriate for a particular context or situation. To facilitate this synthesis and provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills you will need to complete your dissertation, the focus of the Module Project will be the critical analysis of a business case.

Specifically, you will critically assess how ethics, gender, and the leadership theories you explore in this module impact the following business case.

Finder, J., Brandon, H., Kubasik, C., Comey, J., Klein, E. & Teuber, W.J. (2007) ‘The CEO’s private investigation’, Harvard Business Review, 85 (10), pp.47-60, Business Source Premier.

In a world of so many leadership approaches and theories, how does one identify and implement the best leadership approach for her or his particular leadership situation and context? How does gender impact the way leaders are perceived; particularly in a high-stakes situation? How does a leader determine an ethical course of action?
In this project, you will consider these questions and provide answers based on the theories, approaches, and other information you acquire throughout the module as well as your own research. You will complete this project in two submissions. The first submission is done (uploaded).

In the final submission submit approximately 5,000 words in which you address the following:

Synthesise theories and models from the module readings and literature that address the issue in the case.

Utilise effective discussion, analysis, and conclusions showing critical thinking to propose solutions to the case and address the following questions:

• Should a private investigation be conducted and why?

• Define and contrast the gender theories of leadership as well as the perspectives on ethical leadership. How are they different and how are they related?

• How does gender impact this case?

• Identify the contextual cues or aspects of organisational culture that affect the new CEO’s decision making.

• Discuss one or more of the leadership approaches and/or theories that would be most helpful to the CEO in this case and why. What outcomes should be expected if the leader adopts any such approaches?

Master referencing and citation.

Be sure to cite and reference examples from the module textbook and journal articles presented in this module as well as resources you identify from your own research. Your submissions should demonstrate critical analysis of the topic and a coherent application of related theories.
