The link to the podcast can be found at: http://media.uvcs.uvic.ca/vod/mp3/sw356/cphd.htm 2. After listening to the podcast, take a few moments to reflect on what you learned and, using your Course Workbook and readings provided above, prepare responses to the following questions: a. Consider your own situation and identify a time (or two) when you have faced conflicting principles and a context that is complex and requires reflection, rather than the straightforward application of theory or knowledge. What did you do? Who was available to help you think this through? What would have been helpful? b. How did the podcast challenge or support your understanding of ‘normal’ human development? Draw on examples from your practice and/or lived experience. c. Strega, Smith and Jeffery discuss some of the many consequences of enacting normative ideals and standards of human development upon clients. What other consequences have you witnessed in your practice or experienced personally in this regard? Part Two: Preparation of Individual Response to Study Questions • prepare and post a summary (maximum 500 words) of your responses to the questions in Part One ( questions 2a through 2c). You may add any other insights you gained from listening to the podcast. This summary may be written in either a narrative style or in point form as long as it is clear to your fellow learners and the instructor that you have read the material and that you have also reflected carefully on both the readings and each of the questions in Part One.

Build Your Own Systems Theory?/EDD 8510

Assignment 1 is an independent project for you to build your “own systems theory.” You are required to apply all of your knowledge of a system through readings of the text as well as other scholarly articles-publications. Think of any industry and how they were the change agents or game changers. Keep in mind the companies that “re-invented” retail and wholesale, the cup-of-coffee, the hamburger, and/or the automobile industry to name a few.

The structure of your paper should include, but not limited to, topics that will make your proposed organization improve: (a) predictions and anticipations, (b) define your purpose-what it is you are to accomplish, (c) rules how you will operate, (d) continuous improvement, (e) feedback and evaluation, (f) learning, (g) culture, (h) human capital, (i) cycle of change, and (j) accountability. Keep in mind that this is your personal system, so use any characteristics of a system you envision as the above mentioned topics were only suggestions.

Recommended length of the assignment is 4 to 6 pages, not including the cover page and References page. Remember to apply all appropriate conventions of APA-NSU form and style where appropriate: headings, in-text citations, references, and paraphrasing your interpretation of the research. You may write in first person.

Include who pays for any solutions you suggest, do not suggest some agency, identify specific groups and their demographics.

Content should be between 600 and 900 words with at least three references and citations (the textbook might be one).

Measures and Procedures List: Women, Men, and the Bedroom: Methodological and Conceptual Insights That Narrow, Reframe, and Eliminate Gender Differences in Sexuality

This is my topic Women, Men, and the Bedroom: Methodological and Conceptual Insights That Narrow, Reframe, and Eliminate Gender Differences in Sexuality.
Measures and Procedures List
Below are examples that may help you develop a list related to my topic. In this example, imagine that my review is on rejection or social ostracism. If this were my topic, I would need to discuss how rejection is usually operationalized. This variable is usually manipulated in experimental designs. Further, the main dependent variables are affect (how a person feels), self-esteem, and aggression. Your research topic may be studied using experiments, quasi-experiments, survey/correlational methods, or some combination of these. My list related to rejection is below. Be sure that as you make the list you include citations for the measures and manipulations. This will make things easier when writing my paper.
You should attempt to discuss and list a wide array of measures and manipulations of variables related to my topic.
The assignment should include a citation for each measure or manipulation listed. Please be sure that you list the name of the measure and the author(s) who developed or used the measure/method. If you list a measure provide the name of the instrument and cite the person who created it.
Rejection Manipulations
Cyber ball: This is a computerized game in which the participant is told that they will play ball with two other students. Actually, the whole game is rigged and it will respond the same to all participants. The game will begin by including the participant in the ball toss, and then after three tosses the participant will be excluded from the game (no one will toss the participant the ball). In the control or included conditions, participants will be included in all ball tosses (Williams, Cheung, & Choi, 2000)
Recall and write a story: Participants are asked to recall and write about a time they were rejected or accepted. (Twenge, Baumeister, DeWall, Ciarocco, & Bartles, 2007)
Ignore: Participants are invited to the lab and they are ignored (or accepted) by actual people.*
Make rejection salient: Participants are asked to find words in a word puzzle. Participants are randomly assigned to a rejection or accepted condition whereby rejection related words are in the puzzle (alone, rejected, ignored, ostracize) or acceptance related words are in the puzzle.*
Rejection-Related Dependent Measures
Affect: The positive and negative affect schedule (PANAS) (Watson, Clark, & Tellegen, 1988), the feeling thermometer*
Aggression: Number of zombies killed in a video game*
Rate and pressure applied to a punching bag*
The hostility questionnaire*
Self esteem: Rosenberg’s (1965) self esteem scale
