Please submit an essay (500 words minimum) on one of the options listed below. This personal essay helps us become acquainted with you as a person and student, apart from courses, grades, test scores, and other objective data. It will also demonstrate your ability to organize your thoughts and express yourself.*

Discuss the reasons that have prompted you to apply to Lynn University and how the university’s academic, social and cultural environments will prepare you for success.

Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn?

Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?

PO 101: Political Violence
***No late submissions will be accepted beyond the due date and time

Instructions: There are two parts to this assignment. Make sure you have addressed both Part A and Part B in order to receive full marks.
Part A: Refer to information from the Uppsala University Conflict Data Program’s Encyclopedia of Conflict, or any other data source, to answer the questions below. Do not use the United States, Canada or Mexico as your examples/cases. The website for the UCDP is here: https://www.ucdp.uu.se/gpdatabase/search.php
***In order to learn more about each conflict, explore the website or click on a country in red on the map and then click again—two clicks—for a brief description of each violent event.

1. Identify and list 5(five) cases of primordial conflicts in the world in 1975, the first year for which data is available. Do not describe or define anything, just list the country and the incidence of violence you believe to be primordial based on what you have learned this semester. For example,
Year: 1975
Country Primordial Conflict (names only)

2. For the midpoint year of 1994; identify and list 5(five) cases of separatist conflict in the world in 1994. The countries you list should not be the ones you listed for primordial conflicts above. Again, do not describe anything. Just list each country and the incidence of violence you believe to be separatist, based on what you have learned this semester. For example,
Year: 1994
Country Separatist Conflict (names only)

3. For the year 2013, the most recent year for which data is available, identify and list 3(three) cases of issues-based violence in the world in 2013. The countries you list under this section should not be the ones you listed for primordial or separatist violence. Again, do not describe anything. Just list each country and the incidence of violence you believe to be issues-based using the criteria you have learned this semester. For example,
Year: 2013
Country Issues-based violence (names only)

Part B: Answer the following questions below based on the information you have found above:
1. Which type(s) of violence was/were most prevalent in 1975?
2. Which types of violence is most prevalent in 2013?
3. Has political violence increased or decreased over time?
4. Has political violence spread across space or do the same places keep experiencing political violence?
5. Is the world a more violent place in 2013 or a more peaceful place? Support your answer with a brief explanation.

Again, in order to learn more about each conflict, click on a country in red on the map and then click again—two clicks—for a brief description of each violent event.

Ryanodex

Please, look at Ryanodex case and summarize the basis for Priority review
Ryanodex has previously been granted Orphan Drug status and the company currently owns three US patents covering the product.
Eagle Pharmaceuticals believes that the immediate benefits of its improved and more concentrated formulation can be clinically significant in critical care situations.
"Each vial of Ryanodex is reconstituted in less than one minute by the anesthesiologist in contrast to the need to mix and administer approximately 12 vials of currently marketed products”
This reduction in the time to treat patients can result in notable improvement in patient outcomes. Additionally, the currently marketed formulation requires significant drug product volume to be administered.
NOTICE: it’s more of regulatory affairs and health policy than medicine and health

Business law

George manages very busy Coles supermarket at the Belconnen area, which caters for 8,000 customers per day. At approximately 10.05am on 15 January 2013 a customer dropped a glass jar of honey, causing the jar to smash and the honey to spill over the floor. The customer did not tell any of the supermarket staff of the accident and quickly left the store.

The practice of the store staff is to clean up any spilt liquids as soon as they are discovered, and further to check for such spillages on opening at 6am and then at 10am, 2pm and 6pm.

At 11.00 am on the same day Mary entered the supermarket with an elderly man, John.

Mary is a full-time carer responsible for John, who has poor vision, and so Mary always accompanies him on his walks and shopping trips. Whilst walking down one of the supermarket aisles, Mary stopped to talk with a friend. While Mary talked with her friend, John continued walking down the aisle of the supermarket between the rows of goods for sale.

He trod on the broken glass of the honey jar and severely injured his foot.

Advise George of the supermarket’s potential liability

THE INVISIBLE MAN BY RALPH ELLISON

Essay 2: Short Paper (due Wednesday of Week 6).
You should be well on your way in writing your research paper by now. This assignment is for you to begin a preliminary draft of that final paper. This paper should be 3-5 pages (Times New Roman, 12 pt. font) and use two outside sources (sources other than your chosen novel). At least one of your sources must be from one of the databases found on the Stafford Library website. Also, please note that 3 pages doesn’t mean 2 full pages plus a little more on a 3rd page. I expect to see at least 3 complete pages.

After the introduction to your research topic and your thesis sentence, develop your first point. What do you want the reader to see about the book after he/she reads your essay? You will develop this much more in your final paper, but this should be a focused essay on at least one point you plan on making in your final paper. (If you change your mind and go in another direction, you will not be held to using this thesis, but for planning purposes, come as close as you can to what you think you are going to do in your final paper.)

This will require you to focus and narrow your thesis very strictly to something you can do in this limited amount of space. The thesis you use for this paper should not be the same as your final essay, which means it is not the same as the one you submitted for the thesis assignment. You will use the analytical skills you have been developing in the course so far. Find at least two sources that will help you develop that point.

Do not use first or second person in this assignment. All dropbox assignments are formal and should only use third person.

Post your draft to the Writer’s Workshop by Sunday and provide feedback on other students’ papers. You will not have access to the dropbox for this assignment until you have met these requirements for the Writer’s Workshop. Post your revised paper to the dropbox by Wednesday of Week 6 at midnight.

Note: Again, your thesis for this paper should not be the same as the thesis you used for your thesis assignment, which is the thesis you should have drafted for your final paper. Additionally, your introduction to this paper should not be the same as the introduction in Discussion 10, which is the draft introduction for the final paper.
