A PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT AND EXERCISE ANALYSIS

This Portfolio that is already made, need additional information to be added TO COMPLETE THE ANALYSIS AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THIS EXERCISE WITH MY LECTURES REVIEW ;

1. MATLALAB
2. set up a table with values for the investments on the first day and then values at the close of play on Fridays during the period – the last date is the 7th April.

It may be that there is little movement – of course for cash (bank accounts and T-bills) this is most likely to be the case. You could also look at index values for these dates and see how this correlates with the values of the stocks – I mentioned short-term fluctuations (noise) caused by day-traders too in the first lecture in the behavioural finance part. For the stocks there would likely be little movement – if there attempt to analyse why this may be so – any news about these companies or industries they are in in the Philippines or news about the Philippines generally – a Google news search may reveal this.
Also has there been any currency fluctuation – I looked at FX in last week’s lecture – so see the slides on Moodle as you were not there for that part.(student account)

please make the corrections and added this part.

Exploring ethics in contemporary business

Aim: to assess the ability of students to apply theoretical concepts and reflective insights, to the analysis of a contemporary case study.
Objective: Drawing upon critical thinking skills, students are expected to analyse and critique a broad literature base in the exploration of their chosen question. They are also expected to demonstrate their ability to reflect on their own values and relate them to context.
Length of assignment: 2750 words (absolute maximum is 3000 words). This includes a postscript of 300-600 words that relates the topic of the essay to your personal values. However, the word count excludes tables, calculations, appendices (note appendices may not be read by the marker), and the list of references in the bibliography.

For this essay you have a wide choice on where to focus.

You are required to explore some ethical dimension(s) of the activities (broadly defined) of either a business or a not-for–profit organisation.

ETHICAL SITUATION:

an organisation that has experienced an ethical crisis and moral disapproval.
(Suggestions: Explore why the crisis occurred; what might have prevented the crisis and/or how it might recover from the crisis.)

– talk about the financial crisis. DO NOT USE ENRON as an example. Use other present scandals from year 2006 as an example.

NOTE: The case you choose to use must be contemporary; this means that the essay relates to a dilemma/crisis/imagination occurring since 2006. Information on the case can be drawn from non-academic sources such as The Economist, Financial Times, and other quality newspapers, Company websites etc.

Danoune Case Study

The Danone case presents a strategic context that the organization faced at some point in time. The case should be analyzed in that context with the data provided.

Your group has the task of analysing the strategic context of Danone, and the environmental challenges faced. This will include:
– an external analysis (using PESTEDG)
– an internal analysis of capabilities.
– insights into the key opportunities and threats they face.

The report needs to also include a relatively brief (800 word) scholarly discussion of two concepts or theories covered in Weeks 1-6 of the course. The concepts chosen need to relate to the case situation. Be sure to use the library?s resources to gather the required information to support your discussion and findings. You need to find journal articles including online academic journal.

Intro to Art Term Paper

PART ONE: THE MUSEUM
PART TWO: IDENTIFYING THE BASICS
PART THREE: LOOKING AT THE ELEMENTS
PART FOUR: THINKING ABOUT THE CULTURAL CONTEXT
PART FIVE: CONSIDERING THE EXPRESSIVE QUALITIES

Here are the paintings I chose that will be written about:

1. ?douard Manet, The Battle of The Alabama and Kearsarge, 1864

2. Thomas Gainsborough River Landscape, 1768-1770

3. El Greco, Piet?, 1571-1576

4. Jean Metzinger, Le go?ter (Tea Time), 1911. Andr? Salmon

5. Marc Chagall, 1911, Trois heures et demie (Le po?te), Half-Past Three (The Poet), oil on canvas, 195.9 x 144.8 cm

Here are the exact instructions from the professor:

PART ONE
Tell me what museum you went to and where it is located. Describe the architecture of the building. What is the style called? When was it constructed? Was it built to commemorate an important event? Is the style a good one for an art museum? How is this so?
How is the museum laid out? Get a map of the museum?s galleries where you pay your admission. Are the galleries arranged by time periods, by content, by geography or some other way?
Plan your visit using the map. Going to that museum?s web site before your visit will help.
Relate anything else about the building that you found interesting.

PART TWO
Take a notebook with you. You will have to choose 5 artworks to analyze. You should choose a variety of work. For example, one might be a painting realistically rendered, another painting could be impressionistic and a third piece might be a sculpture.
Use the following visual analysis guide to write about the work you have chosen.

PART THREE
Identifying the Basics
1. Copy down the information from the label accompanying the work. I am looking for the title, artist?s name, medium and date.
2. What is the subject matter?
3. Where was it made?

PART FOUR
Looking at the Elements
1. Describe the use of line and texture.
2. Discuss color and value.
3. Describe the use of shapes and space.
4. Describe the use of motion and rhythm.
5. Describe the use of balance and proportion.

PART FIVE
Thinking About the Cultural Context
1. Identify the content and central theme.
2. What is the style period?
3. Identify symbols, objects, people, places which reflect cultural context.
4. What cultural concepts are expressed?
Considering the Expressive Qualities
1. Describe the object?s ability to convey emotions.
2. Does the object express ideas of present or past societies? If so, how?
3. What is your overall assessment of the work?

Not all questions will be appropriate for the art you choose. Set up your paper so that you?ve written down the heading (i.e.Identifying the Basics) and then in narrative form address the items in that category. Consequently, the discussion part of your essay will have four parts for each piece of art you write about.

Your paper will look like this:
PART ONE: THE MUSEUM
PART TWO: IDENTIFYING THE BASICS
PART THREE: LOOKING AT THE ELEMENTS
PART FOUR: THINKING ABOUT THE CULTURAL CONTEXT
PART FIVE: CONSIDERING THE EXPRESSIVE QUALITIES

Parts 2 through 5 will be used for each of the 5 artworks you have chosen.

The Concept of Crime-Sport Violence

Please read them carefully
Question: The Concept of crime-Though it may appear straightforward, crime is a difficult concept to define. Conducting research and referring to case studies, critically discuss this statement with reference to Sport Violence.

to think about the question
Choose a focus
The importance of an intro – stating your answer/ outlining the essay organisation.
A good paper tells the reader where the paper is going, what the structure of the argument will be.
This doesn’t mean divulging all your goodies and great points in the introduction (ie leave some surprises for your reader), but do set up your discussion, what you have chosen/ your analytical framework
Body = supporting material/appropriate details.
The importance of a conclusion – re-answer and, how have you answered? (what’s your best example?) – but do not repeat verbatim what you stated in your intro.

About the question:
Sports violence refers to violence on the field, not violence amongst fans. The point of the question is that violence on the field is placed in a certain context – that is, the context of sport. This context of violence is precisely what we were interested the relevant lecture.
Before you begin writing, jot down all your ideas and organise them into an essay plan (a step by step line of argument).
Don’t write the essay off the top of your head – it will end up disorganised and incoherent.
Do write more than one draft (yes, more than one!) The best writing is re-writing!
Essays – advice that follows
Structuring the essay:
Introduction: An introduction should explicitly state your answer and the organisation of the essay. For example:
" Media representations of police work question the role of the police in three main ways. The first is that . . . The second is . . . and the third main way that media representations question and/or legitimate police work is by. . . This paper will argue that although media representations at times serve to question the role of the police work, they broadly legitimate the police as necessary and in a positive light".
It is NOT about giving away all of your great ideas – but it is about signposting for your reader that there is a purpose, a plan, a trajectory to the essay they are about to read.
Body:
The body of your essay should include supporting material and appropriate details for your answer.
Make sure you structure the body of the essay as you indicated in your introduction.
You can use signposting for the reader to tie your ideas together. This will make your essay flow logically from point to point. If you feel you are losing the plot, go back and reread the question and your introduction.
Points should be distributed throughout paragraphs
Paragraphs should be organised around a central point
Frame a move between paragraphs by asking yourself: is it demonstrating a similar issue? Are you raising another eg? Or is it in contrast?
Order your points logically so that they flow in connection to the themes/issues you have raised Simplicity in structure is best (NB not simplistic argument) = achieving clarity
Don’t be convoluted or verbose. Inject yourself into the argument. Description is regurgitating/ recounting other’s arguments/ rehashing without reflection. We are looking for evidence that you are bringing some kind of theoretical perspective or methodological model to bear.
Break into the argument by asking yourself questions: what are the reasons scholars are interested in the socialisation of young men/ women? Why must we account for definitions of crime? Why should we care? What are the theoretical debates?
Conclusion:
In your Conclusion, re-answer the question and refer briefly to the main points in the body. Show HOW you have answered the question. Try not to repeat your conclusion verbatim. For example:
"In conclusion, I have argued in this essay that although media representations of the role of the police and their work in the criminal justice system focus on a few ‘bad apples’, the media overwhelmingly present an image of policing in a positive light. This is most clearly illustrated by my discussion of the film blah blah. . . (give your best example and end the essay).
***Choose enough scholarly references so that you demonstrate an engagement with the field/issues and independent research.
You need to demonstrate that you have a handle on the relevant literature
Choose your readings wisely and do not ‘pumpup’ the bibliography with unnecessary or irrelevant references, Exercise your judgment.
Development of argument
Description and analysis
Critical analysis demands logic and evidence it constitutes the development of an argument.
Critical analysis issues in a judgment.
