Race – being African American from Haiti, shortage of nursing staff, cost management – cutting and reducing cost, maximizing profit, minimizing staff, furthering her education.

Having a good mentor impacted my leadership style 100%. I had a phenomenal preceptor who actually become a good friend to me. She believed that I possessed the qualities to becoming a good leader. She guided me and taught me well because she felt I had the drive to become a manager. I broke down my long term goals into short term goals and work on it little by little, I first became a LPN, then a RN, then a nurse supervisor, then I went to grad school and became NP and now a nurse manager.
