Immanuel Kant

The assignment is rather open-ended, requesting a paper about the life, ideas, and philosophies of Immanuel Kant. There should be a heavy focus on his ideas and philosophies, with only about one page describing his life and background (unless it directly ties into why he came to his conclusions). The ONLY sources to be used are the following internet sites: 1. The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy https://www.iep.utm.edu/kant-rel/ https://www.iep.utm.edu/kantview/ 2. Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/kant/ Citation style is not important, use whatever. Just be consistent, and cite the above sites as often as possible.

Social media response to student

Please respond to the following students thoughts below…… When it comes to social media, using it while in your workplace has been questioned as being appropriate. According to this article from 2012, the NLRB or National Labor Relations Board, employee’s rights to outlet to social media about work has been very confusing (Troutman, 2012). An example of this confusion is that an employee could rant online about food served to customers at a work party and not be in danger of job termination. On the other hand, an employee could be in danger of job termination when talking about an accident that happens near his/her place of employment. According to the NLRB, having policies on social media is deemed to be unlawful (Troutman, 2012) . Deeming these policies unlawful puts these companies in a tough place. Companies want to get a grip on the ethics of social media but the NLRB ultimately makes this impossible. The NLRB is laying the law down when it comes to employer’s social media policies. Deeming it unlawful for employers to establish policies makes a lot sense. Speaking on social media could be viewed as a version of free speech and putting a lock on our first amendment. I also could see that having these policies could seem a little overboard. In hindsight, commenting on social media is like having a conversation with many people conveniently through technology. Having a company put policies on that is metaphorically like putting a muzzle on a tamed dog. Blocking the employers is said to be unlawful but in contrast having policies on social media is something that should be required for all companies. Having these policies would not mean ultimately banning the use of social media but it would provide guidelines on the ethics of social media in a work place. Having these guidelines would ensure that employees ethically respect the companies they work for and not have any issues on social media that relates to work. Issues on social media about work could potentially leak into the workplace and cause rifts between employees. Another reason why companies should have these policies is to keep employees productive. In conclusion having these social media policies would protect the employees and the employers. I would say that social media should be limited to personal use and that it is not an effective business communication tool. When it comes to communication, personal and professional should stay separated. Effective business communication should stay limited to in person, phone, and e-mail. Social media is a personal outlet, where personal life is put online and should stay away from one’s professional life. References Troutman, K. (2012, December 10). Social media in the workplace. SOME Questions (just for information purpose and idea) FROM MY MODULE GUIDE: *where does responsibility for the atrocity lie? Crawford *Does social convention not logic define why one act of killing is an atrocity (Haditha) and another is less atrocious (bombing cities) (p. 196)? Valentino, Final Solutions: Mass Killing and Genocide in the 20th Century (Ithaca: Cornell University Press 2005) also covers some cases, emphasising the role of elites and the use of genocide as a strategic tool. 3)Michael Mann, The Dark Side of Democracy: Explaining Ethnic Cleansing (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2004) which takes a more functionalist approach and has somewhat uneven chapters on (among others) Rwanda. 4) Martin Shaw (2007): War and genocide : organized killing in modern society, (Cambridge : Polity , 2003) which examines the connection between the two and includes some case studies . Governance and Public Policy

Hi writer, Please this Post activity (Not an essay) need the following: Drawing on your experience, as a student of public administration or as a public sector professional, choose one of the following people’s thoughts and provide your opinion to the ideas raised by the thought: Julianne’s : “My manager keeps using terms as though they are interchangeable. I have noticed that he particularly likes use Administration / Management interchangeably, and Governance / Government as though they have the same meanings. I wonder if he’s right? 1. Hacer’s: “Urrrrgggghhhhh Globalisation, Boundaries, Complexity and Transformations. I have heard it all before but I still have no idea how these relate to understanding the context of governance.” 2. Reza’s: “I wonder what role social, economic and environmental considerations play in governance? I always thought that the most important players were States, and that the Market would solve most of our problems!” You can write your opinion piece in the first person (ie. I think that…….) and provide logical reasoned ideas and your own definitions rather than formally researched answers. The idea here is that you are looking at what you currently believe about the relationships between these terms and concepts rather than seeking an “answer”. In many cases it is useful to provide clear examples of the ideas that you are discussing and defining. Writing down your current understanding will provide you with a valuable starting point for your study of Governance within public administration. best regards
