The models range from financial, governance and sports activities. These models define the type of institutions and the status to which they exist in the society. Additionally, the models help universities gain a competitive advantage over others thus attracting more smart students. In this paper, the Queens University competitive sports model and the University of Cape Town governance model is discussed. Queens University competitive sports model The Queens University competitive sports model was adopted in August 2010 to develop a competitive age in university sports. The model maintains the competitive opportunities that exist in sports and continues to support more opportunities towards the success of competitive sports. The model is progressive, competitive, and sustainable thus it offers best services in terms of wellness, recreation, sports, and fitness to students. Many students will prefer such a model since it provides them with an environment for growth holistically. The model groups competitive sports opportunities into three categories. Varsity clubs, varsity teams, and recreation clubs. The three categories will help pursue competitive sports at the highest level at the same time broadening the participation niche of these sporting activities at large. Competitive sports unite people from different varsities and educational backgrounds who come together to serve a course that would help them build not only their health but also their careers. A university or a high school that offers competitive sporting activities to the students is highly valued compared to the ones that offer only excellent academic activities to the students in the institution (Pope, Kuhn, & Forster, 2009). Sporting activities thus offer a competitive advantage to institutions compared to others around the world. Competitive advantage is seen through the increased demand for sports excellence in the country. Queens University recognizes that education should extend beyond the walls of a lecture hall thus providing the chance for students to take part in the co-curriculum activities in the institution. Sports are important to the lives of students in many ways. Sports help impact discipline to students and the increase the feeling of togetherness. In addition to that, participants in sports create a spirit of teamwork. The virtues and qualities are used to grow the students in their future careers and within the universities. Sports also ensure that students make their leisure time worthwhile in that, they do not waste their time planning for riots and other criminal activities. Parents thus will prefer to have their students in educational institutions with a variety of co-curricular activities such as sporting that will ensure that their students utilize their time to the maximum. Sports help students work hard through physical stimulation thus becoming important to the students fraternity at large. The whole competitive advantage of sports is seen through these values in the universities. The University of Cape Town governance model The University of Cape Town governance model is essential as it helps in developing the governing bodies of the universities. Governing bodies are important as they help in maintaining the reputation of institutions and organizations in the society. The impact of good governance is not only felt in the business entities but also in the educational institutions. Good corporate governance is a critical tool for gaining competitive advantage in the market. The University of Cape Town has demonstrated the importance of good governance model as a tool for competitive advantage in the world. The university based in South Africa has worked to ensure that there is flexibility in the systems that will ensure quality service delivery. In the University of Cape Town, good governance is used to add value and manage risks that the institution faces. Good governance has numerous benefits including; promoting the community confidence, supports ethical decisions and leading to better decision-making among others. When these benefits are achieved, it becomes easy for institutions to become competitive (Mwanaka & Mawere, 2015). The good leadership displayed by the University of Cape Town has enhanced its growth and development into a globally competitive institution. The university has managed to lead in the entire continent for an extended period owing to the leadership qualities that emerge from the vice chancellors. Good leadership has thus proven to be essential for growth and development of institutions in order for them to become global leaders. Conclusion Different models in the learning institutions are important in achieving targets created by the institutions in the world. Competitive advantage is achieved according to how the models of the institutions react towards curriculum development in the schools. It is thus important for institutions to ensure that different models are utilized to create a unique environment about a given institution in the long run. Queens University competitive sports model and the University of Cape Town good governance model provide evidence on the importance of good models that define an institution. For schools to achieve a competitive advantage over others, they have to ensure that there is a developed and well defined model that will act as a marketing tool (Silk, Andrews, & Cole, 2005). The great Gatsby (film 2013): Explain how the novel does or does not demonstrate the death of the American Dream Custom Essay

This paper is based on the movie “The great Gatsby” (2013 film). 1. Explain how the novel does or does not demonstrate the death of the American Dream. Is the main theme of Gatsby indeed “the withering American Dream”? What does the novel offer about American identity? You have to write why and how, why should the reader care? Make sure you give explanations on “why” and “how” . it’s about your opinion . – I would refer you to these 2 items below… I am most interested in these 2 parts of a college essay. This is the rest of the tip sheet form Yale’s web site…. 3. Evidence: the material a writer works with in exploring a thesis. Evidence that has been overlooked or previously undiscovered may serve to prove a thesis. Frequently, however, academic writers re-examine evidence that others have looked at before, in which case the evidence is more likely to suggest or persuade readers that the writer’s approach is a fruitful one. Since a good thesis must be arguable, academic writers are especially obligated to consider counter-evidence, to grapple directly with facts, patterns, or passages that resist or complicate the essay’s main argument. Writers must orient readers to the source of the evidence, which must be cited. 4. Analysis & Reflection: the work a writer does to turn evidence into argument, to show the reader how the evidence supports, develops, or extends the essay’s thesis. Since a thesis must be arguable, no evidence in a good academic argument can speak for itself—all of it must be processed by the writer. Typical moves of analysis are to highlight significant details of the evidence and to name patterns that might otherwise be undetected. When working with written evidence, it’s good to observe the rule of two: the writer should supply at least two words of analysis for every word of a citation, and usually more. Analysis generally refers directly to the evidence (“Describing his actions with such words as ‘growled’ and ‘stalked’ suggests an underlying animal savagery”), while reflection builds upon analysis to support larger claims (“This imagery seems to contradict the narrator’s stated assessment that Paul is a ‘gentle soul’”). Other moves that indicate reflection are consideration of a counter-argument, definitions or refinements of terms and assumptions, and qualifications of previous claims. Reflection is important throughout an essay, but should be especially rich and full in between sections of the argument and in the essay’s conclusion.

Our critical analysis of this idea may suggest: – Perspectives presented in the literature such as Friedman (1970) are NOT ANTI-CSR Rather, There is a group of perspectives, theories, ideas presented in the literature which may be termed the “Narrow view of CSR”. However, they too present legitimate CSR perspectives, which are not necessarily against CSR. Rather, it presents a case for the “narrow view of CSR” and “the wider view of CSR” READING : (JUST USE THIS 3 IN ESSAY Reference List) – Garriga, E., Mele, D. (2004).
